The current 2002+ age group are of course out of qualification for the UEFA U21 finals 23/25 As has been in the normal over the years, matches (friendlies) tend not to be organised then for that age group Next U21 age group (2004) are set to start in March 2025 for the 25/27 UEFA finals (would be expect matches to be friendlies) before the UEFA group matches start thereafter dragonsoccer.co.uk/newsite/index.php?id=1014Matty Jones was on senior camp duty this morning as well

They have just conceded 8 goals in 2 matches that’s not being negative it’s a fact you egg "Making us a laughing stock at youth level",is what you said , so two games are a whole youth programme? What you are is an arrogant nonentity who craves attention, you do gorge on negativity. We are LITERALLY living through the most successful Welsh spell in modern football history. For you however two bad U17 results make this irrelevant. BTW egg? What are you 12?

Yoganathan's a big lad! Good player too

He does, so does Tuck alongside him Midfield are looking pretty tired now mind, could do with a change Issaka looks lively on the ball but could work on his decision making

Sounded like Scotland have some really good players at that level too. They had a midfielder who’s played 24 games and scored 4 times for Motherwell this season, a winger who scored the winner for Sheffield United in the Championship a couple of weeks ago, a player who’s already played for Celtic and a few others were mentioned too. That’s impressive for under 19s!

Do they need to finish first in the group? That will be very challenging with France up next! Is there another group that they then need to top?

That’s impressive for under 19s! They did, their captain (who I think is the Motherwell midfielder) looks an excellent prospect That being said I think on our side you had someone who's scored in the Championship for Plymouth, another who's played for Coventry and 5 who've played for Cardiff's first team I'd say we certainly would have benefitted with having Crew available

Top 2 and best 3rd placed team go through to the Elite Round where we'd have to win the group

Without meaning to jinx things or be too hyperbolic, I think this u19 side is one of the best crops of players we've had (probably only surpassed by Ramsey's geenration who topped their group ahead of France/Italy if I remember correctly and almost went through against England). We have good to great prospects all over the park.
Lewys benjamin may be our best hope for a decent keeper. I'm pretty sure Man City tried to sign him when he was at Cardiff, but that fell through and I think I've read he's impressing at Wolves. He looked good yesterday.
Brayden Clarke is really highly thought of at Arsenal. He usually has a mistake in him, but is a very good ball playing centre back. Dan Cox was good alongside him in the game yesterday and looked good, although I haven't heard much about him.
Kpakio is a really exciting prospect (think Man City were after him too). Already played a few cup games for Cardiff - still raw, but could be a great attacking full back. I thought Zach Giggs, on the other flank in yesterday's game, struggled a fair bit so I'm not as hopeful with him.
I was really impressed with the whole midfield. They struggled at the beginning against a really good Scotish midfield, but then really grew into it and dominated for large parts. Kai Andrews is regularly in Coventry's squad and looked a really good player - both technically and physically. Yoganathan has already played a few times in League 1 and did some really good things yesterday. I've heard less about Alfie Tuck, but he was brilliant yesterday and has been the couple of times I've seen him with various age groups.
Issaka, although raw, did some really impressive things yesterday and already has a few Championship appearances under his belt.
Biancheri got his customary goal and there were a couple of excellent touches. He's highly thought of at Man U.
Elliot Myles and Zach Giggs were the only ones that didn't really impress imo.
I say all that, and we'll probably end up getting spanked by France now!

I say all that, and we'll probably end up getting spanked by France now! Agreed re: Giggs but I think in fairness to him the Scottish left winger is one of their big prospects, already played and scored for Hibs. I was a little surprised that Kpakio was put into an unfamiliar position at left back with Giggs in at right back whilst Giles (highly thought of at Cardiff) was on the bench I think Benjamin failed the medical with Man City. Without wanting to be disparaging, I was always surprised that Margetson was often the u17s number 1, Benjamin looks a much better player and is certainly more confident with crosses I agree the midfield looked good, and that's without probably their best player in Crew being available! I thought Cox looked good as well, I know Clarke is highly thought of but Cox looked the better of the 2 yesterday, very solid. Dylan Lawlor has had injury problems this season but is another highly thought of at the back Iwan Morgan another who could have been involved, I think Woodward is another who could have been and is highly thought of at Swansea? I think what's also exciting is a few of them are only 17 or turned 18 very recently, so its not like its an "old" u19 side. Important to remember too there are a few prospects slightly older than these like Nevett & Koumas But yeah, probably get pumped by France now I've said all that

Thomas Woodward missed out due to injury by the looks of it, not feature for Swansea U18s and U21s in recent week add Menzi Mazwi, George Nevett and Joe Belmont to the list of players missing out Iwan Morgan has not been in the squad since September 2024 (not selected in October and this month)
several are 2007 born in the squad
Clarke, Bostock Kpakio, Allen etc
so still eligbile for next season's U19s as well

Who knows, had he stayed with Swans he may have been in the first team squad by now. Especially, as scoring goals has been an issue this season.

Surprised no Iwan Morgan as he seemed to have a lot of potential and Brentford paid quite a bit for him from swans youth I understood.
