Blydi hell.....how much irrelevant but he's-a-local-and-we're-all-so-proud-of-him information can they fit in to an article? "Daniel's favourite pyjamas as a child were his transformers ones. In any other pair he just wouldn't settle, even if we left his bedroom door slightly ajar and the landing light on. Speaking of transformers, we still laugh at family gatherings at how Daniel buried Optimus Prime in the sand at Westward Ho! and it took his father, Lee, over 20 minutes to find him again. Even now, the sand in Optimus Prime's joints grinds when he transforms into a gun"

New Club For Rob
Robert Ogleby has signed a two year deal at Scottish Premier Division side Hearts.
The Coventry born striker was not offered a professional contract by the Sky Blues and today, signed a deal for the next two season with the Tynecastle based club, after impressing them following a two week trial.

Absolutely. The Bristol City academy is potentially very useful to us, although neither Ribeiro nor Wilson have fully broken through yet, and Cotterill remains a fringe player. All three are technically good though, and I think Ribeiro (at least) will make it.

Unfortunately I won't be, due to baby born last week. Enjoy the game, those who go. Watching our U21's has been a real joy for me in recent years - a day out to watch Wales play excellent football, and actually win games against so called bigger nations - take note seniors. I've not enjoyed a game more than the Italy win, or the draw at Villa Park. Lets hope the good times continue with this next batch, starting tonight.

I'm planning on going. The line-up is on the FAW website. Only recognise a few names.

Nil nil HT. Quite an open game, a few chances either end. Doble put ball in net after 40 mins but ref had already blown for a foul.

FT Wales 1 Austria 0 (Elliot Chamberlain)
Austria had two great chances to equalise towards end but Wales hung on. Flynn made 7 subs, so quite an inexperiened team by end. Well done lads.
Att: 1,044.

Great result. Surprisingly good attendance too. More than went to the game in Austria back in May. Have we ever had more for an U21 friendly not against England?

www.uefa.com/under21/news/newsid=1590591.htmlWe've got group 3 which is 5 not six teams which is better I think. Czech Rep, Wales, Armenia, Montenegrro and Andorra. Sounds tough but better than last two campaigns surley, and look at some of the other groups.

Wales has much the easiest group. "Group stage matches will be played according to a standard, home and away, league system, kicking off on 25 March this year and concluding with the final games on 10 September 2012. The ten group winners and four best runners-up will move on to the following month's play-offs, with the winners of those seven two-legged ties joining Israel in the final tournament." What method is used to sort out the best runner-up when some groups are five and some six?

What method is used to sort out the best runner-up when some groups are five and some six? Thats the $64k question. Seeing as we are in what could be seen as a weak group, you would have to fancy us to get 2nd at the very least considering previous achievements at under 21 level. Hopefully results against the bottom seeds are not counted in a 6 team group as with senior football. However under 21 football seems subject to ridiculous interpretations of the laws so expect results against bottom seeds to count double.

I think they have a really good chance of ending up top of that group.

I think they have a really good chance of ending up top of that group. An outside chance. The Czechs won 7 out of 8 games in the last round of qualifiers - knocking out Euro 2009 finalists Germany - and are considered one of the favourites for Euro 2011. I think it's a good thing the Czechs are in our group - but because they are likely to take maximum points from Montenegro, Armenia and Andorra. Hopefully we can get those six wins too and ensure at least a second place finish. Goal difference over Andorra would then help to ensure we are one of the best runners up.

Results against the teams in 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th are what determines the best runner up. We have one of the weakest 5th placed teams in our group, which may be good news for our goal difference.

What happened in the last couple of campaigns has very little bearing at all I think the new Wales squad showed enough against Austria to suggest we'll be in contention again. We know the Czech games will be very tough. A lot depends on the strength of the Montenegro Under 21 team though.

not quite the finished product really, not always a regular for Swansea as far as I know either. Experience won't hurt him, at least he'll defo get a game this way.

He's a talent and a top bloke but I think he is only in the u21 becuase its better to be a u21 star than be a squad senior player.

He probably won't get picked for the England game so the u21's may as well use his talents.

has been playing regular over the last couple of months
biggest surprise as a swans fan is that neil taylor was not picked for the u21's. Speed was really praising him after the leeds game
