Yes I can't think why GS left Taylor out or does Brian Flynn select the U21's ? With regard to Joe Allen, one for the future IMO.

Pretty sure Neil Taylor is too old for the u21s now. Hopefully he'll be in the senior squad. Surprised Joe Allen isn't too. I guess he'll be first in line for prmotion when the (inevitable ) injuries kick in though...

I think this llad needs to toughen up a bit also, reminds me of the gareth bale thing when redknapp first had bale, bale would fall over a lot and look to shape his hair back in place, he told the physio leave him on the floor to toughen up, joe allen gets little knocks all the time, needs to toughen up a lot if hes ever going to make it, good talent.

Has had regular games in the Championship and having watched him quite a bit this season has toughened up quite a bit and is a very good passer of the ball not the finished article just yet but underlines how good he can be.

has been playing regular over the last couple of months biggest surprise as a swans fan is that neil taylor was not picked for the u21's. Speed was really praising him after the leeds game perhaps he's in the senior squad for england?

What I've seen of Joe Allen he looks a good player for the future. We have to remember he is still young so his time will come.
Agree with what has been said earlier that he probably need to toughen up a bit but I'm looking forward to the years ahead with him and Ramsey running midfield for us.

Complete garbage : www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/dec/18/swanseaSee also Jay McEveley's tackle on him in the Battle of Derby last year as proof that he is targeted not because he is weak or soft, but because he makes the Swans tick

From what I've seen of Allen he likes a tackle. I think he is worthy of a place on the bench if everyone is fit. He's a good player. I'd certainly put him ahead of King based upon their performances against us (Cardiff).

Joe Allen is good but is some way from Andy King's standard

Not many, but Allen dosen't start for Swansea and King has 15 goals and is his club captain.

I've seen Allen destroy us and King be fairly anonymous. Allen starts plenty of games for Swansea. What do you think of the defensive side of King's game?

He plays a holding role for Liester so he obviousley can do a defensive job, he's not a Busquets but he is good defensivly. I've seen him win several good balls from tackles and is very good at intercepting the play. He has 15 goals which makes him our top goalscorer, and obvious leadership qualities

How do you think he did in that match?

To be fair i do rate Andy King very highly :-). Just like Lampard he makes late intelligent runs into the box which allow him to bag goals. Also if things had been differant they would both be in the same team now as I belive andy King came through chelsea's academy. He also has the talent to one day return to chelsea IMO.

6 teams have conceded more- fair point, King is one of two holding players they also have a back 4 and a golakeeper who's job is to break attack down and prevent goals. If that is the case if it wasn't for King's goals leister would be a relegation contender.
His game against Ireland- everyone has thier off days, Xavi and Inesta looked average against hurculeas at the nou camp earlier in the season, does this mean they are average players? Gerrard and Lampard looked average against Germany in the world cup does this mean they too are average players?

how you can say allen is better than king is beyond me, i mean allen could be better i wont disagree, in fact i hope all our players get better than eachother then we would be awsome. however currently i would say andy is either a starter or a player to come on for 30 mins, and allen would be lucky to make the bench. hense why hes left in the under 21s

I don't follow Spanish football or the England football team, only the Championship. And from my own observations I would say that Allen is a better player than King - albeit that King is a better finisher and makes good runs into the box.

cardocevans, Everton want andy king this summer, i make this proof hes better than allen, i dont see a consistent top 8 prem team coming in for allen? Everton wanting Andy King is pure speculation. Cardiff's Peter Whittingham was joint top scorer in the Championship last season with 20 goals from midfield. He's definitely more talented than King and no Prem club came in for him.

whittingham tried and tested in prem, failed misserable. cahill tried and tested in prem, succeded. king could succed.
the entire team was crap againsnt irealand, so your point of the irealand game is utterly irrelevant

Everton's supposed interest in King is pure speculation. I'd be amazed if he ended up at Everton or any other decent Prem team. The Whittingham example demonstrates that scoring lots of goals from midfield in the Champ doesn't automatically make you a Prem player.
King was particularly disappointing aginst Ireland I thought. He offered nothing defensively or in attack. Didn't justify the hype at all.
