Good luck to him at Swansea - hope he bloods the Welsh youngsters there

Potter had agreed terms and is set to be named manager soon. Really positive appointment from them. Think they are stepping back in the right direction.

speaking to Cullen on bank holiday weekend... and he said that all the youngsters are very excited about the prospect (as it was then) of Potter joining. lets hope he puts some faith in the youth boys as there is some talented boys coming through (totally aware that they are going to need to recruit some championship grit as well)

I'd like to se Cullen, Roberts, Dan James and Rodon step up and get plenty of game time this season. Of those its most important Rodon begins to improve, considering our lack of centre back options.

Out of the four, I think it’s most likely that Roberts shall get plenty of game time. Rodon and James? I like both players, however, still remain not sure on them. Putting all my faith in to Potter to see what he can do with them.

The only other one I'd be confident will get a shot this coming season would be Dan James. I would love there to be more, but other Welsh lads in the u23 age group still have a bit to prove and I'm a little concerned we have hyped them (me included!!) before they've earnt the praise. I'm still trying to decipher who gets the nod out of Rodon and Cian Harries. If Harries has the pace to play at LB, he may find opportunities somewhere easier to come by.

However, we forgot Aaron Lewis, who I feel shall push Olsson next season. He should have been promoted last season to the first team squad after Kingsley left for Hull. When Kingsley had been here, the competition got the best out of Olsson. We need that next season. No room for passengers in the Championship.

Had a very decent performance yesterday, in an otherwise poor display of our U21 v Georgia. Always looking up and trying to push forward. Rarely did any mistakes.
Actually has a killer long throw on him, to rival our Gareth ;-)

A little disappointed its only a three year contract. Would have liked them to give him (and stick to) a five year deal

Sometimes things just don’t work. If it went wrong at Swansea they’d have to give him a hell of a pay off. Swansea is a huge step up for him

Don’t expect us to bounce back immediately. If Potter can get us playing a new, updated version of The Swansea Way and keep us up, I shall be happy with that.

I think more youngsters should do this, especially with European football.

Rodon had a good game when he came on second half against Eibar. He even got an assist at the end. There's a decent chance he'll get game time, if, as expected, Fernandez and Mawson both leave.
Roberts played from the start and is a likely starter for the opening fixture against Sheffield United.

Only one Welshman starting today, possibly only due to injury.
More Scots in the team, a real shame.
How many Welsh players started for Newport and Wrexham today? How many for Cardiff next week.
Never mind Scotland need the help

Is it just me, or have Swansea become really poor negotiators? They clearly needed to offload several player on big money, but the transfer fees they've received have been well below what other clubs would get in today's market, IMO. They're selling Fernandez - a really good PL standard CB for just £6m and sold fabianski, one of the best keepers in the PL for the last few seasons and not that old for a keeper, for £7m. Compare that to some of the massive fees for some average / unproven players lately - Richarlison from Watford for £40m, Ward for £12m etc. They don't seem to be playing the market well

Some dreadful business this window. They didn't sign Ryan Woods because they thought his 6.5m value was too high. Incredible after pocketing £40 million on transfers this summer.
Incredibly they only have 2 first team centre backs left in van der Hoorn and Amat. Hopefully this means Joe Rodon will have his chance to play at Championship level.

At least Joe Rodon and possibly also Harries should get championship games soon. I'm sure the Swans will have to dip into the loan market for a CB or two. But I'm hoping they see something in the youngsters that most people haven't yet. Look at the way Mepham exploded onto the scene so quickly. I really hope the young Welsh lads can do the same. Though there is a bit of pressure on them if other signings don't arrive.

Olsson is probably the best left back in the Championship so John will do well to surpass him in the side.

You're right on Olsson. All the best left backs in the champ either got promoted or bought this window. Fulham and Cardiff applying one of each method

Just realised they've sold almost every one of their centre backs!
Personally I don't think it will mean Swansea slide down the table, they looked very good on Saturday.
Means that Rodon and Harries should get game time, which is fantastic news. Could be a blessing in disguise for the Swans if it means they're forced to discover the academy.
