It hurts my eyes to look at what is going on at Swansea. The days when they were the best run club in the land seem a long way off now.

Connor, Declan and Dan James all starting Played well for first 60 minutes and then match ground to a halt...
Declan was taken off injured after 53 mins.
1-0 and three important points

No fewer than 7 Welsh players represented Swansea U23s tonight as they won 2-0 at Chelsea. Ampadu played the first half for Chelsea. I don't think he was injured although he was clattered at one point. I imagine he'll be on the bench for the Man U game. Good performance from Swansea, with pretty much all of the Welsh contingent putting in good performances, with Welshmen Keston Davies and Liam Cullen scoring the goals.
Three Welsh U18s on the bench as well.

Another 7 Welshmen featuring for Swansea U23s tonight. Swans one up at half-time, through Welshman Oli Cooper. You can watch the second half here: live.swanseacity.com/One player to watch out for is 16 year old (God I feel old...) Tivonge Rushesha, at right-back. Very impressive first half debut. Very early days - but one I'll certainly be keeping an eye on.

Declan back in the starting 11 together with Connor and Daniel. Harries on the bench.
Seem to be having a mare of a game. 3-0 down at half time ;-(

Tivonge Rushesha is a Wales U17 International. Incidentally Dan Hawkins from Hull is Welsh too.

No fewer than 9 Welsh players represented Swansea U23s tonight, all teenagers, as they beat Wolves U23s away to top their Premier League Cup group in the final group game.
To be honest I can't say for sure which ones will make it as professionals let alone represent Wales, but if it's any comfort my recent track record is one of underestimating the ability of the likes of Roberts, Rodon and James, based on what I've seen on them live for the Wales U21s, and watching Swansea U23s on the internet. On the laws of probability alone some of these teenagers are likely to make it for Swansea and Wales.
There are some rumours floating around that the American owners are thinking of downgrading or getting rid of the academy to save a few pennies. I doubt it myself, as the business case for the academy has never been stronger, given the massive increase in the value of Rodon, James and Grimes, to name but three, and the track record of Potter in developing young talent. But given the actions of the owners to date I wouldn't put it past them. That would be seriously bad for Welsh football.

Didn't see him in tonight's game, but was reasonably impressed with his showing last time out. Very early days of course, but one of many to keep an eye on.

Liam Cullen on fire tonight, lovely goal, and had a second good finish chalked off for a marginal offside. Blake scored a beauty direct from a free-kick as well. In recent games it's the young Welsh contingent that have impressed me the most, whereas the more experienced non-Welsh players such as King and Maric have been indifferent.

Finished 2-2. Swansea a bit unlucky. Keston Davies beaten twice after being kicked in the head. Lots of promising performances from the Welsh contingent.
