Surprised to be honest, I don't think he's ready, or not quite good enough for the Premiership yet.
I won't quite understand it if Brooks gets into the Premiership, yet Wilson, Woodburn and Lawrence will most likely be in the championship. All three better players atm.

Agree that this might be too soon but he can't turn down an opportunity like this.
A good pre season and he could be away.
Still hoping Wilson and Woodburn leave Liverpool.
Not personal convinced on Lawrence yet, think championship might be his level

Yes, Wilson is better and should get a permanent or loan move to a lower prem club. Woodburn could probably do with a loan in the championship or abroad - with Liverpool's current trajectory, they're likely to sign another player or too in his position (Fekir is still on the cards) so I can't see him getting any gametime again.

Good going for Brooks. I just hope he gets just enough game time to be able to showcase his talent.
Like others are saying, I'm quite excited about how the next generation of Wales players are now starting to come together within the set-up.

Not convinced by Lawrence, Brooks has a higher potential ceiling and it looks like Bournemouth are buying potential

Howe needs to freshen his squad up and I feel Brooks is a good start in the refreshing process. There's many full backs in the Premier League that won't want to face him coming on as a potential impact sub next season.

He's going to be huge for us. He played as a number 10 most of the time for Sheffield United last season.
Malcolm Allen said he reminded him of Dele Alli, and I can see why!
He's really mature in his decision making, he's got the skills but he's got a lot of intelligence too.
Fingers crossed he'll get plenty of opportunities to play at Bournemouth next season! Big loss for the Blades, he made an impact almost every time he played.

So excited with our attacking options and given this then perhaps it was a perfect time for attack minded Giggs to take over from defence minded Coleman. Brooks - winger who can score goals and create Wilson - a striker who can create and also has the ability to play on the wing Woodburn - can perhaps play 10, great technique and a fantastic clean striker of the ball Lawrence - has the ability and great striker of the ball but very inconsistent and does not always see players in space around him Bale - the Legend and on top of this we have two ordinary forwards (Robson-Kanu, Vokes), but they both play in the Premier League and one of them scores very important goals for us! and you never know, it could be Tyler Roberts break through season! Surely we can't come off worse vs Republic of Ireland again in the autumn with this firepower. They are a nightmare to attack but we should be beating what is a very ordinary team, albeit our defence is perhaps a worry. Great post - and I agree 100%. It looks as though we are being built to attack with all the prospects we will have going forward. It sure is an exciting prospect for Welsh football. The only thing that worries me about our emerging new format is (as you point out), the potential of leaving gaping holes in our defence. Clearly, having plenty of attackers at your disposal means one or two can step up if another is unavailable. I think rotating two or three in attack on a rotation basis while working on strengthening our defence is the right answer. But all the options mean we can hopefully be flexible depending on our opposition. Watching the World Cup is a real eye-opener in terms of seeing how the top teams break down the defence of the lesser, more defensively-organised teams. Brazil, England, Portugal and Spain have all struggled to do this. It seems to be either a case of "persistence pays off" or the use of some clever tactics to permeate the opposition's defence or trick them into opening up a little.

Must admit that I am yet to be convinced by Dai and am a lot more skeptical than most others on this forum. Plenty of (unproven) potential. He needs to bulk up and man up - and should certainly have a word with Harry, on how to transform to a MAN from the boy he now is. I hope to be proven wrong, and all the luck and success in the world to him. BUT, FOR ME, Woodburn has proven his merits as a super sub on the big stage - Dai is still to do that. ... A friendly v Panama ... No. That proves nothing.
I just hope that the £15m price tag and a move to the Premiership doesn't go to his head.
GOOD LUCK, DAI!

I'm with manulike, I think he's been hyped a little too much here and he still has a lot to prove. Not all of Woodburn, Brooks, Wilson and Ampadu will go on to become top premier league players. In reality it will probably be only one or two (I'd put my money on Ampadu) and the others will be very good championship / lower prem players, so still really important for us.

Looks a naturally gifted player with the ability to go past players and score goals. Gets you on the edge of your seat when he picks up the ball.
He has now completed his move to Bournemouth. Good luck Brooksey!!!

Give Welsh fans a good reason to go to Cardiff v Bournemouth if they are playing.

Might be a signal he's about to join. Difficult to say whether it will be good for us in the short-term, I guess it all depends on how much gametime they get.

I’ve got a feeling he may play a fair bit for them next season too, the boy is premier quality right now .... not sure mepham is ready for the prem yet mind... another year developing in the championship will do him good

Imo the problem we have had defence wise over last 3 games, with this new formation, is that imo Ledley has been terrible, almost like playing with 10 men +Williams was only just looking like getting some sort of form back after horrible season. Ampadu will solve a lot of that problems in the next year, as I think Ledleys days are number (as much as I love Ledleys contribution over the years). I have a feeling, a player of Ampadus promise will bring the best out Brooks, Woodburn, Lawrence going forward+help whoever in defence. Think we will be ok defence wise. Just would like one of our managers one day to be able to consistently pick or best players, we never go a few games where can.

I don't see any reason he needs to bulk up really, he's shown he can hold his own in the Championship! He's a better player than Woodburn IMO! Iniesta, david silva etc etc don't necessarily need to bulk up. Brooks will get tougher with age too.

You probably do have a point and that is why this move may be a great opportunity for him. It'll give him more experience and more game time which can only help him improve further. But along with Ampadu, I would argue that Woodburn has also shown great promise on the international scene - a late goal against Austria and an assist for Robson-Kanu, which were his first two international games. I agree that even if these players don't make it out of the Championship, they'll still be very important for us going forward, as they provide us with the flexibility to explore more than one good attacking option, rather than being reliant on a star-player.

Explaining the situation, he said: “I did play for England last summer but, before then, I had expressed my interest to play for Wales. “There was a mix-up and after the Toulon Tournament, I still wanted to play for Wales. “Thankfully, they gave me the opportunity. When I meet up with the team they all push in the same direction and I want to be a part of it.” That's that cleared up then ( )...I do like his enthusiasm and his gratitude for being welcomed into the group.
