Great performances by Roberts and Rodon all season. Very assured.
Sadly Declan John well off the pace yesterday, needs to greatly up fitness, energy and performance

If he keeps his place in the sarting line up, which looks likely, he'll be a shoe-in for the next squad and could get his first cap agianst Spain.

Every performance to date has been a 7 out of 10 minimum. He looks so assured on the ball, imperious in the air, and has a good turn of pace for such a tall player. Not at Ampadu's level, but he's made an excellent start to his professional career. The Albania match may be a more realistic one for him to get his first Wales cap - if he continues his current form.

Things have changed so quickly at centre half for us. 12 months ago our best back up was Lockyer playing in the lower leagues.
Now we have Mepham and Rodon currently playing well in the championship and Ampadu who could play there
Let's hope for the same fortune up front

Swansea will have to tie Rodon and Roberts down with new contracts before January, otherwise they could sign pre-contract deals with other clubs when the next window opens as they are both on deals which end in summer 2019.
I imagine both will be in some sort of demand for sure!

Poor from Swansea, they could of signed them on 2 or 3 year contracts in the summer for relative peanuts, now they will have to offer a lot more.

We have the makings of a solid defence that will last us for 5 or 6 campaigns. Just need a center forward to come thru.

Surprise, surprise, Mr Negative strikes again! Rodon was rested, as were several other players. I'd be amazed if he didn't play against Boro on Saturday - unless he's carrying an injury, which is possible. Carter-Vickers was Ok last night, but Rodon has been far more impressive. Potter has shown every sign of rotating the squad, which is good news for the Welsh players. I see Dan James continuing to get regular game time and Roberts now seems to be first choice at right back ahead of Naughton.
5 Welsh players featured in the 1-0 victory for the U21s against Wimbledon in the Checkatrade trophy last night, with Aaron Lewis getting the winner. So, it's quite possible that other Welsh players will feature for Swansea this season apart from Roberts, Rodon and James.

Not negative, Swansea signed a centre half who they are likely to play, Rodon was always going to be the one who drops out.
Maybe potter will play 3 at the back and he will come back in, there will also be
cup games and when others have injuries.
He has already played more than anyone expected

Another very solid display by Joe against a typical Pulis side that just pumped it into the box at every opportunity.
Made a couple of decent runs forward as well.
85% pass success rate. Higher than any defender on the pitch.
Won 8 aerials. Only the 6ft 6ins Flint won more and most of them were against the 5ft 5ins Routledge or Dyer.
Roberts good as well though made a mistake or two. Gotta love his enthusiasm.

Very solid today.
He's great in the air. 7 of the 21 "aerials" his team won were down to him.

Compare to Chester at 5'10 and Ash at 6'

Roberts was good, and a long Welsh career beckons. But of the two, Rodon is the one that makes me think "this guy has got it". He's commanding in the air, shows good positional sense, can dribble the ball out of defence and finds his man more often than not - including forward balls to feet. His tackling is well timed and decisive. There's something about his movement that catches the eye that's hard to describe - the sort of smoothness and assuredness I associate with class players. No wonder Man City have been tracking him. I can see Roberts playing for a mid-table Premier League team down the line, in Rodon's case I can see him playing for a top 6 side. No pressure!
The big caveat to all of the above is that Roberts and Rodon are doing it at Championship level, which is way below the level of the top sides in the Premier League. So, very promising though Roberts' and Rodon' starts to their professional careers have been there's still some way to go for both.

My only question about Rodon is, what went wrong for him in his previous loan spells? I believe he's had two, one with cheltenham and one with another side that I can't remember. From what I can gather, he didn't do well at those clubs. It's great that he's doing well at the moment, but clearly it's far too early to judge him properly.

I don't recall him having bad spells on loan. You may be confusing him with Keston Davies, who went on loan to Yeovil - and was hooked at half-time on his debut with them losing 5-1 at half-time against Luton. I think it's fair to say that Potter (who I wanted for Swansea when Clement got the sack) is working miracles with the squad at his disposal. The team that started yesterday had 7 players who were playing age grade football or lower league football on loan last season.
I agree it's too early to judge Rodon properly. And he's also one of those players who I'm tempted to get over-excited about...

Another clean sheet for Rodon. How many is that now? 6 in 9. Just 4 goals conceded in the 9 he's played. Very solid and won everything in the air again. Swansea not going to lose many with him and VDH at the back.

His distribution wasn't as good as it's been, but he executed his defensive duties very well yet again. Roberts had a good game - had a few good chances to score playing as a winger.

Rodon hasn't played 10 championship games yet so needs a bit more experience than that to play at centre half.
Can see him and Mepham with Ampadu in front of them come 2020, with Roberts and Davies at full back

Played well again. Hits the underside of the bar.
Stayed on as the only center back when they went to three at the back so Potter must think highly of him.
Star player today was Dan James. Created umpteen chances. Very quick and had the beating of the defence till they doubled up on him.
