Alex Mathie
Ex-Ipswich Town striker on BBC Radio Suffolk
It's not been Ipswich's day today.
Joe Rodon has been outstanding at the back [for Leeds]. He looks like a Premier League defender.

Watched most of the game yesterday as well as several other Leeds games during the season so far and having previously been a little unsure of his overall qualities and somewhat critical of him at times, I have to say that he has been immense in defence at Leeds this season.
I have also been impressed by his passing capabilities. He is able to make incisive passes in between the lines with very little room for error which sets up dangerous attacking positions. Just needs to improve on his heading when in attacking positions! I don't understand how this particular area of his game is so good defensively but so poor in attack!?
Credit to Farke for bringing the best out of him and hoping that he keeps performing consistently well.

Its as if he closes his eyes and wishes for the best - really strange. Mepham is not much better. To think these guys are 6ft 4in and 6ft 3in too! I am pretty certain that for Rodon and James the answer to why now is simple. The need to get into a rhythm by playing a few games in a row and I think its linked to confidence also. They need a manager to put their arm around them and to back them. They never got that in the Premier League did they.

It doesn't surprise me at all that Rodon is now showing a lot of quality in possession for Leeds, as this was something he demonstrated from the get go for Swansea. I found it a bit bemusing that many Cymru fans saw him as bit of an old fashioned bruiser, but then again his performances were lacking in the national shirt for quit a while.
It's great to see Rodon get back to his best. He's a class act.
I think once he gets his first goal they will start to flow.

His first full season as a regular starter and it's quite clearly showing. A career completely derailed before it even got going but now thankfully back on track and gathering momentum.

Him and Ampadu looked pretty good yesterday, both very comfortable on the ball and able to play through the lines with ease. Ampadu is a bit of a conundrum though, midfield or defence?

The idea of Rodon and Ampadu playing regularly together at the back in the Premier League for Leeds and for Wales is amazing but we're way too short in midfield right now. James and Ampadu look like a really good pairing but after that the quality drops off considerably.

He has to play central midfield for us. No way should Morrell be near the team now

Talk of Joe Rodon playing CM is surprising to be fair!

For Wales he should start in midfield until other options emerge I think he prefers midfield, but as a right-footed LCB who is also comfortable with his left foot, he can exert a lot of influence on a game from that position.

Talk of Joe Rodon playing CM is surprising to be fair! I got caught by that too. I have a habit of reading new to old and was so confused. Would give us some height in the middle of the park though. I think we should do the grassroots tradition of picking positions out of a hat for the last game of the season. If we win the nations league group early would love to see us play a high line with Dan James and Brennan Johnson as CB's.

Talk of Joe Rodon playing CM is surprising to be fair! Could develop into taking up a John Stones type role in the future perhaps?

Another clean sheet for the Welsh duo as the team battled hard for a 1-0 away victory, which extends their winning league run to 5 games, and moves them up to 2nd place.
Rodon with Ampadu as captain have now won all 5 games while playing at CB together, and they have only conceded 1 goal.

Leeds fans absolutely love him! Everyone wants him to become a permanent signing. It would be a good move all round I'd say.
