I'm sure if I went on YBIG and started calling Irish posts on an Irish forum 'ridiculous' I'd get gangbanged. What?! If there were some Irish posters downplaying Coleman or Walters as a loss to us, and you as a Welsh poster pulled them up on it, 99.9% of the forum would be in agreement with you. Have I less of a right to point out a daft post that minimizes the exclusion of your most important player as a threat in a vital world cup qualifier? You would just get banned like MOI................................ Ybig doesn't do freedom of speech unless following the party line.

But why do millions of ROI resodents live and work in the UK then? Think you really are a bit confused. I am an Irish CITIZEN who is RESIDENT and working in the UK and have been for many years. Just like there are British CITIZENS from Wales and elsewhere who are RESIDENT in Republic of Ireland. If you are still confused then answer why is Gareth Bale playing in Spain ? ALL of above come down to PERSONAL CHOICE, just like your dad had a choice and could have moved to North London and you would now be a Spurs supporter. Good for you Oscar but personally I would never live and work in a country where I disliked the people /goverment or monarchy and followed the club sides.

The Tackle on Polulsen tonight. I don't suppose many watched the game but there was a tackle there tonight not dissimilar to the tackle on Allen. Poulsen running up the wing into a challenge with Ward ( I think ) gets shoved by none other than Maclean and goes head first into Ward. It looked really nasty at first. Maclean wasn't anywhere near the ball and it looks like a minor push. Its a foul but no booking as its a minor push and the impact with the defender causes the injury. The defender in this case is completely blameless but if Maclean keeps doing this then someone could end up badly hurt. I thought it looked deliberate push on Poulsen into Ward.

I was channel hopping and saw the tackle and the "Allen tackle" came to mind, in slow mo it looked as if the defeder dropped his shoulder into him, but I suppose it was accidental. It was in the second half though

How McClean doesn't get more red cards, I don't know. Some of his tackles are almost comically bad. He's blatantly going for the man not the ball. Surely a new offence of aggravated professional foul should be created to categorise McClean's tackling.

I thought Maclean deliberately pushed him into the path of the defender tonight. Nice little set up. Its a little push so the perpetrator gets off scott free. The player causing the injury appears helpless. No bookings and potential serious injury as was the case with Allen.

I watched it back and saw the incident. Looked blatant to me. No way does that same incident occur twice without intent. Obviously a tactic they've been looking to master; MacLean does What's only seen as a minor push but the player's momentum into the other guy causes a nasty collision.

Perhaps that's been mad Roy Keane's role with ROI, developing foul play for the team.

Would like to know whether this is a common tactic by ROI? Whilst it may be difficult within the rules to penalise the 'accidental' challenger a ref could pull the players to one side and make it clear he knows what they are up too as a warning. The media need to be picking up on this stuff but the beeb has a strong irish contingent who resolutely see it as on the edge of the law.

Perhaps that's been mad Roy Keane's role with ROI, developing foul play for the team. There was an interview he gave in the Euros before I think the last 16 match v. France, where he said something along the lines of: "If you need to foul to win, then you foul. You might get a yellow card, you might get a red card. But your team might win the game." I can't remember the exact quote but very much along the lines of that. I'm pretty sure the foul play comes from Keane tbh.

I didn't want to restart an old thread but did you see McClean get taken out by Ashley Young in the penalty area a week ago? Shame it wasn't by Lukaku.

I didn't want to restart an old thread but did you see McClean get taken out by Ashley Young At the risk of starting old rivalries (which I don't want to do btw - and NO disrespect to ROI or the majority of their supporters), but I really couldn't resist "liking" this post! 😀

I've gotten over the Ireland match, got no bad feelings about their team. All I see when I see McClean is him trying to hurt people, I just generally dislike the guy, he's a coward.
