Another good performance, I think Mepham-Rodon-Davies is the way to go with Ampadu in midfield Depends on opposition. Against the best sides, certainly (although I'm still not sure if i prefer ampadu at rcb and morrell in the middle). Against the weaker side, I would like to see us continue with allen sitting and two more forward-thinking players ahead of him - ramsey and one of wilson/roberts of someone like colwill if he kicks on.

Nice to see him starting his third game on the bounce for Bournemouth today!

Gone off with a suspected hamstring injury. Worrying with the play offs in two months.

One of only three senior CBs at Bournemouth at the moment so it looks like he'll be starting in the Premier League at least until they sign some new ones. Good chance for him, really hope he does well and keeps his place.

Is RCB currently Mepham's shirt to lose?

Is RCB currently Mepham's shirt to lose? Yes, especially if England pick Toney.

I'll go back on my word and say that Ampadu could now solve a midfield problem, Mepham has become impossible to ignore, he's come back well from being dropped at Bournemouth in the past and he's coming into his prime years. If they stay up a lot of it will probably be down to him.

Mepham is a very good defender who is unfairly maligned by our fans. Him, Rodon & Davies for me

Agree, think RCB is his to lose now.

Yep has to start now. He's turned into a Premier League player this year
Frees up Ampadu to play midfield, meaning we have Ampadu, Allen, Ramsey, Wilson & Morrell who can all play there - that gives me the feeling of having more depth in midfield than we think as well

He & Rodon are each having their best seasons to date. With the ever brilliant Ben Davies, dare I say it our centre back combination is looking very strong going into the World Cup. This frees up Ampadu for a midfield role, where I think he will be required.

Watched their game tonight, lost by two VAR controversial goals. Mepham wasn't at fault at all for either and he was really good. He looks like the player I hoped he would be when he first broke through 4 or 5 seasons ago. He was up against the big Italian international forward and dominated him - winning all of the arial duels. Also managed to get 4 or 5 blocks in, and he was great on the ball, which is a real underrated aspect of his game in my view. Antonio came on then which provided a different sort of test, but didn't get the better of him. His fine season continues

Watching MOTD, I'm sure I saw him tweak an ankle or something right on the final whistle v Leeds?

Fit enough to start tonight….but one of only two Bournemouth players not to be rested in an essentially meaningless game for Bournemouth.
What could possibly go wrong?

The more he plays the better he gets and his prime years are still ahead of him. He and Rodon are never going to be Virgil Van Dyk but what they have are brilliant defensive instincts and a real love of just out and out pure defending, they enjoy that side of defending which, as bizarre as this sounds, isn't as prevalent in defenders these days as it should be.

I think he played because he’s suspended for the weekend, might actually turn out better for us. Played this game and a break on the weekend before meeting up with the squad.

Yeah, good observation that actually! I wonder if he asked to play to keep some match fitness? What a time to have the league cup, I wonder if any World Cup players asked not to play to avoid a last minute injury in a competition that isn’t really that important in the grand scheme of things?

Starts today with Moore back on the bench alongside Brooks. I still have no idea what the issue was, but it seems they've moved past it which is good to see.
I still want to see them and Forest, who have Neco and Johnson starting again, stay up because ultimately the more players we have in the prem the better. But I suspect both will go down unfortunately.

A shame? I would always expect players to back their manager. Those that don't shouldn't be playing. It's called loyalty - together stronger, remember?

As would be the. "The new gaffer has brought energy to the camp, really enjoying his training methods and we know that we've now got the right guy to take us forward" if Page were to be replaced.

Read a Q&A in FourFourTwo with a Bournemouth fan where one of the questions was 'Which player would you drive to another club...'? He's not that bad is he!?

A belated well done to Mepham for the other night. Not many plaudits for him or Rodon, but it was arguably their best joint performance for us.
