Bit of a forgotten man at the moment but looks like he's started the season well.

Bit of a forgotten man at the moment but looks like he's started the season well. I assumed he was injured, was he just not considered for the last two games?

Nice to see we've got Mepham, Roberts, Rodon, Moore, and Beck, all playing regularly in the top 6 of the championship.
Obviously Dan James working his way back, and Ampadu to return after Christmas.

I’ve generally been a fan of his, even when he was getting a lot of criticism, but I’m not sure that he and Rodon make a good partnership. They often get in each other’s way, and they were both quite poor out in Montenegro, albeit that may have been more to do with the conditions. Great to see him in form though!

A player that always looks better when playing regularly, also I think he gets a bad press from Wales fans, Rodon is similar in that he looks better when playing regularly, and their mistakes as a pair seem to be blamed on Mepham more than Rodon. This isn't a criticism of Rodon but I think his up and attem attitude gives him a pass sometimes.

Mepham goes about his business more quietly but I think he's often more assured than Rodon. Ultimately when both are playing regularly I think they're a solid pairing. Mepham has done the right thing going to get playing time rather than sitting on the bench, and reaping the rewards now being right at the business end of the Championship. Great to see and a nailed on starter for me when it comes to the big games

First time I've watched it back, a proper defensive horroshow. Harsh to single Mepham out though when Rodon was arguably just as bad. I think this is a good example of the point being made in other comments, Rodon tends to get a free pass while all the criticsm gets levelled at Mepham. He wasn't at fault for the first goal, he just got in the position that all centre back are told to occupy when the ball is in that position. It was the midfield's job to pick up the goalscorer, but we only had Ampadu in there which was the main issue. Mepham was awful for the second goal in letting the goalscorer drift away from him, but Rodon was more at fault for getting dragged out of position and losing the ball in a dangerous situation in the first place. Third goal - the defensive shape was just diabolical, with Rodon and Davies both almost on the left touchline, then a 20-yeard gap between Rodon and Mepham which the forward ran through.

It doesn't make sense to use the worst performances under Page to make judgements on players, as Sheehan has just proven

I agree that Mepham wasn't at fault for that goal. But I disagree that it was the midfield's job to pick up the goalscorer. If you watch the move develop, the striker initially moves high up the pitch, then drops back into the hole. In my opinion Rodon should have been closer. And yes, Rodon was terrible that game. The second goal where he gives the ball away, takes an age to get up, then trots back, is some of the worst defending I've ever seen.
