Get your money in him for the Welsh job. He’s the best candidate we got.

I think he just might. Good call on Osian but coach and Manager are different roles. I wouldn’t want to see Cookie as an assistant to thats for sure.

It will spell the end for Morrell's international career if NJ ever became manager.

Luton up into 5th. What a tremendous job he's doing there.

Yeah doesn't get the same attention Cooper does but arguably doing a better job with a lesser squad

Incredible to produce that last night when we started with a back three of a LB (who admittedly can play LCB), 1 CB, and a RB, with no defenders on the bench. (No sign of Lockyer so maybe injury or illness)
So of course, ten minutes in, the CB pulls a hamstring so we have to have a back three of the aforementioned LB, the RB playing in the middle and a tiny RWB playing RCB with a winger at RWB.

What's the situation with Elliot Thorpe? I assumed when he signed he would have gotten assurances that he'd be in the running for first team minutes since that's why he left Spurs in the first place, but I see he's only made one appearance for you all season, with that being in the cup. Looks like he was a sub for you last night but couldn't get on even when you were 4-0 up? He'll be 22 later this year so he really needs to start playing.

Think he was only on the bench because we literally had no other 1st team squad members left and NJ has a real aversion to youth. I was screaming for him to be brought on to at 4-0 given our injury situation. Just think he is way down the pecking order. Especially as he appears to be a playmaker and we need shuttlers and energy players to play the way we do.

Strange decision by Jones to sign him in the first place if he had no intention of playing him, and a strange decision by Thorpe to move there unless he thought he was likely be in contention for the first team. Since you're in the playoffs I suppose he won't get any minutes now for the rest of the season as every game will be important. I'm sure I read that he left Spurs to play regularly (rather than them releasing him because he wasn't good enough), but he's ended up wasting another year of his career at a lower level still not playing! Must be frustrating for him.

Must be frustrating for him. I don't really get why managers do that. My club's old manager used to sign players on loan (Conor Roberts was one of them) and yet never play them and then they would go on to be big name players elsewhere. I think he said that he wasn't keen on developing other club's players over the club's own youth but would continue to get others on loan and they'd never be seen again. What's the point? I wonder if there is a disconnect between the recruitment side telling the manager what he's going to get in terms of adding squad depth and the wants of the manager themselves. It makes no sense otherwise.

Should have gone to Hoffenheim, who were strongly rumoured to be one of the front runners to sign him two years ago🤔

It makes no sense otherwise. NJ says something similar, to be fair he says he says about 'developing other clubs players over our own', so the emphasis isn't on youth. Admittedly, Jones at least follows through with it, we didn't have a single loan player at the club until the January deadline day and even then he only added one because we had to sell our soon to be out-of-contract keeper to recoup some money and got one in to replace him. (We then had to get an emergency loan because he got injured!)

Still going strong, interesting that Locks was back and yet he kept the makeshift back 5 that finished the Preston game (meaning a winger at RWB, our 1st choice RWB at RCB and the backup RWB at CCB) and only put him on the bench.
Didn't see the game as went to my first live 6 Nations game yesterday!!

Congrats to Nathan for winning Championship manager of the season. He has done a great job with limited budget and not what you would regard as the most talented squad. They are well organised and play to their strengths similar to Huddersfield in that respect.

Linked to the vacant Brighton job...surely not? Ex Brighton player. Obvious choice really. The big question is can he produce the goods outside of Luton? Had a nightmare the only previous time he tried to branch out Will be a turn up to have two a Welsh managers at prem level. Wonder when the last time that happened was? Mark Hughes and……

Spent a lot of time coaching at Brighton too before he joined us the first time so there is a relationship there with Bloom and a lot of people at Brighton.

Russell Martin was linked a few hours after the Tuchel speculation started. My Swans season ticket holder mate wouldn't be that sad to see him leave.
Think Brighton may go for a continental coach.

Southampton speaking with Jones to take the hot seat One of the weirdest club statements that I have ever seen from us. We are letting him speak to Saints but only AFTER the game tonight. That leaves us in the weirdest holding pattern that I have ever seen.
