With Mickey Thomas and Malcolm Allen having come out in favour of Giggs as Speed's replacement (may Gary rest in peace) and Paul Abbandonato and other Welsh media figures bound to trumpet his candidacy, I thought it would be important to demonstrate the hardcore fans' feeling against such an appointment. I feel it would be wrong because Giggs has no experience, retired from Wales at his playing peak, always put club before country, and often pulled out of friendlies, and therefore would not, contrary to Thomas and Allen's views, command the respect that Speed did.
Please sign here if you think Giggs should not be the new manager. It's mostly symbolic and I doubt a few anonymous signatures on an internet forum will change anyone's thinking, but frankly I must have an outlet for all this idiotic pro-Giggs bullshit, and ranting on an internet forum is one way of dealing with it.

Stu. This would be the most hypocritical appointment ever, fresh from Speed getting players to turn up they are calling for a player that hardly ever turned up. Also since many Welsh pundits are actively monitoring Dutch Rays twitter feed it may be best if we tweet our support and/or disgust that giggs might even be considered. use #DutchRay twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/%23DutchRay

I am against his appointment.
HOWEVER...
What if Giggs was interviewed by the FAW and set out a template for how he would take this Idea forward and improve it?
What if Giggs was appointed and he came out and apologised for his appearance record and said that this was his way of putting back into Welsh football what was missed by his absence.
What if senior members of the Project (Ray, Osian, Bellamy, Ramsey, Bale) were consulted and all stated that they would be delighted to work with Ryan?
I'm not saying that any of this would happen, I'm just putting it out there.
What if Giggs set up a bonus scheme whereby one lucky fan per game was allowed to make sweet love to Imogen 'Definitely not a blackmailer - Fact' Thomas?

What if Giggs was appointed and he came out and apologised for his appearance record and said that this was his way of putting back into Welsh football what was missed by his absence. Perhaps, then, along with that, he'd be sorry for his comments when Wales played England in March, when he said Wales lacked experience, knowing that, Speed needed the experience around the set up, but as expected, he declined as he was scared to upset Taggart!

Things that Ryan couldn't do without us all cringing.
1.Have a go at a club manager about releasing a player for international duty.
2. Utter a word about passion or commitment to international football.
3. Talk about the importance of international friendlies and how players need to turn up.
4. Read the riot act to players about keepin their private lives in check and avoid media attention.

Trendy, I would say that a leopard doesn't change his spots. Either he didn't care enough to play for Wales or he lacked the bollocks to stand up to Fergie. I believe it's mostly the second as his cowardice was revealed to the whole world over the twitter scandel. Instead of being a man and admitting it he tried everything possible to hide it.
I don't care what he did in his private life but the way he tried to cover it up makes me not think he's not made of the stuff we need.

for me he wouldnt be a bad appointment if he just came in as a figure head with ray and osian pulling the strings.
Would attract the crowds and the players would want to turn up for someone like giggs as they did for speed - which is a major factor of our recent turnaround. Plus being under one of the best managers of all time he's used to the best and has played at the highest standard all his career.
I'm not saying this is the best appointment but realistically the best outcome we could get. Coleman, flynny, rush, saunders not for me sorry. Giggs could slot in alongside the rest of speeds backroom staff just fine, lets not rock the boat too much.

Yes i can see the negatives but for balance there are also some positives too 1. The most decorated player in premiership history 2. Ex captain of wales and has captained united 3. Has spent time already with this squad and management team 4. Relates to the younger players - once the youngest player to represent wales 5. All the squad will respect him professionally for what he has achieved 6. Has his coaching badges 7. Has 64 caps for wales (speed had 85) 8. Played alongside and a friend of speed 9. Giggs is world renowned. 10. Has stated he would have chosen wales even if he was eligible for england 11. Retired from international football respectfully - just like speed 12. Most premiership appearances 13. Has stated manchester united or wales as his ultimate management jobs 14. Advice of fergie throughout, i should imagine

I think we found the person who voted for the traitor.
1. Irrelevent as we saw from Speed who wasn't nearly as decorated and yet still did a great job. 2. He was a shit captain for Wales and a shit captain for Utd. 3. Irrelevent, we don't want someone to be their mates or hold their hands. 4. Same as 3. 5. Will they really? Imagine what he COULD have achieved if he had really given a shit. 6. I've got swimming badges, doesn't mean I could Swim for Wales. 7. Imagine how many caps he COULD have had if he gave a shit. 8. Irrelevent. 9. World renowned for not giving a shit about Wales. 10. No way of proving otherwise. 11. No one retires respectfully from internationals. 12. Again, who cares about his club career, he could easily have the most caps for Wales if he gave a shit. 13. Well since he didn't give a shit about playing for us can we really believe him when he says he wants to manage us. 14. Just like all the other ex players from Utd who have gone on to have glittering careers as managers then?
Giggs will forever be tainted with his half assed approach to international duty and having the bollocks of a mouse. The man is a complete coward and he should be no where near our team.

What's he ever done at international level then? 6 - Yeah, and so do Bryan Robson, Carlton Palmer and Ian Rush. 7 - How many of those were in 'meaningless' (i.e. fucking vital) friendlies. 8 - So? 9 - Who by, and as what? And how does this benefit Wales? 10 - Good for him, so would any Welsh person. Minimum requirement. 11 - Did he? Shame he wasn't at all respectful during his international career. 12 - So? 13 - He also said that Wales needed 'more experience out there' after the england game. 14 - Yeah, just like Bryan Robson and Steve Bruce did.
