Central midfieler currently at Manchester United. Born/age: Nov 17, 2000 (17) From near Rhyl. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dylan-levitt/profil/spieler/496652...................... Big over-hyping article (including a good passing montage vid) in the Star from two weeks ago... Man Utd fans hail 'the new Paul Scholes' after U18s ace Dylan Levitt's passing MASTERCLASS www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/685606/Man-Utd-news-Paul-Scholes-Dylan-Levitt-passing-masterclass-videoMAN UTD fans believe they have found the second coming of club legend Paul Scholes after U18 star Dylan Levitt produced a maverick performance in the heart of midfield. The 17-year-old has emerged as the latest youth prospect in the conveyor belt of talent to rise through the ranks at Old Trafford – and his progress has Red Devils supporters excited. Levitt controlled the middle of the pitch during United’s comfortable 2-0 win over second-placed Everton on Saturday, helping the young squad tighten their grip on the top of the Under-18 League North table. The above footage demonstrates his impressive range of distribution, reminiscent of the ginger playmaker – who is widely hailed as one of England’s greatest ever passers. Levitt, a Welsh U17 international, only signed with the academy in June last year – but already there are high hopes that he could progress all the way to the first team. And the calls are growing louder after thousands of fans saw the video when it was posted on social media site Reddit this week. “Dylan is a classy player - he’s doing bits for the Wales side as well,” wrote one supporter. “Just finding his feet this year, next season will be a big one.” Another said: “Oh s***, now I'm excited for this lad. “I’ll start watching more matches of our U18 and U21 teams.” “Damn. Those are some really neat passes,” added a third. “Simple and effective.” .... Top strike from Dylan Levitt for the U18s v Wolves www.facebook.com/manchesterunited/videos/10155257242707746/....

Hence the reason he is not out in Croatia this week. I got the feeling that was the case and saw your update about his withdrawal. Though I didn't mention it as I seem to remember Bradshaw getting some stick on here choosing club of over Welsh youth games. (I thought Bradshaw was justified choosing league football) It sounds as though these US games should be more competitive for him and anything that helps his club career will hopefully help his potential international career. Also his absence opens up a space for his replacement. Silver linings.

One slight amendment, he's actually from Flint, and hopefully will go on to be as successful as another Flint lad, a certain Ian Rush. United certainly think very highly of him so let's hope he continues to progress and develop.

Anyone know how this guy is thought of in man utd circles? is he a stand out or just one of lots of promising younger players for them? Seems to have a lovely pass and just looks composed.

Seems to have a lovely pass and just looks composed. by all accounts pretty highly thought of, early days yet but probably one that they will give a chance to make it, I.E look to loan out when hes a bit older to see if he can perform. But not likely to be one that makes a breakthrough straight to the first team like Rashford ETC. BIG however UTD took 5-6 players of a similar age(16-18) on the preseason tour and left dylan behind. some of it is likely just to be seniority, UTD tend to keep their players in the under 18's as long as possible and then once their too old loan out or promote their best players to the seniors. therefore a number of players there that are of a similar age have had an extra year in the under 18's. There were a couple though such as mason greenwood (only 16) and james garner (England under 17 captain, who plays in a similar position as dylan) who got selected with about as much experience as dylan. Difficult to know how much not going on tour means but has certainly shown a lot of promise in the youth teams.

Dylan on at the start of the 2nd half. Taxed with turning the home tie v Fulham around at 1-2 Poole is captain again ;-)
EDIT Good to see young Dylan get time with the big boys - as he has only just turned 18.
Didn't do much wrong and actually had 3 or 4 decent attempts to put players through, but United were simply not that good...
Poole looks like he has developed into a very decent full back and he actually looks very calm on the ball as well. Despite his 5'11'' he is quite dominant in the air.

Dylan starting tonight in the FA Youth Cup. Giggs is there to see him ;-)
EDIT Dylan playing well. Always looking up and looking for the forward pass. A couple of really penetrating passes. One decent shot from 20 yards that brought a good save. He is on corner duty. 3 out of 4 were spot on the money. Game is much better than LFC U23 yesterday ...

One f the pop ups told me that I just won a £1000 Asda Gift Card. I just have to give my credit card details, address and mother's maiden name ;-)
Can't imagine Ryan stayed on til the end, as United were losing 0-3 til the 86th minute and finally got a goal back, just before the end.
Dylan only turned 18 last month, but there is plenty of potential there. Slightly defensive minded midfielder, but not really competing with Smith or Ampadu. More along the lines of Robbie Burton. Very decent on the ball and a few great cross field passes.
One to keep an eye on.

Dylan Levitt has started making the Man Utd U23s recently. United fans been raving about him. His ball control and passing accuracy long or short and his awareness are very good it seems. Got feeling not long until he can make first team subs bench in a cup game or something. Only 18 as well. youtu.be/x0Xgb-UJE9Y

Could be a shock inclusion in the next squad. I'll be majorly surprised if he doesn't get called up to train with the lads in May, but an inclusion in the 23? Ahead of the likes of Lee Evans and Gwion Edwards?
I don't think that we really need any more mid-fielders ;-)

Giggs doesn't rate Evans and Gwion is struggling with Ipswich so could see him included ahead of those 2
Our youth players show a lot of promise at the moment. Let's hope a one or two become top players.

I think a senior call up is a bit further off for this lad. He certainly looks promising, but hasn't he only just been included in the United u-23s recently? Has he played for our u-21s yet?
By comparison, Matondo had a full season in Man Citys u-23s and played for our u-21s, and has only recently been called up for his first cap (by virtue of injuries).
We already have plenty of promising talent in our squad, let's give Levitt a bit more time to progress before we throw him in the first team picture. A few training sessios with the seniors, as previously suggested, may be the best thing for him now.
