Hopefully we get that allocation and they don’t stick to the 5% rule How many did the Hungarians get against them? Not sure but the total attendance was 14k

No. Game will be held at the brand new purpose built National Football Stadium, Bratislava. Holds 22,500 and located about 2 miles from the old town ;-)

Will our game be the first international match played there? Or are they hoping to play Croatia there?

It was only opened in February, so not ready to be hosting their March game v Hungary. Think it had a U19 international recently.

That's us only getting the mandatory 5% then...

Sadly, it looks like 1100 and 10/14 for that as well... Looks a darn sight prettier than Osijek, though ...

Frustrating for those of us on 6/12 currently, continuously just missing out.. due to low capacity grounds...

If anyone was booked on the Ryan Air Tuesday evening flight out of Birmingham (8 Oct) note that it has now been set to mid-morning departure. Perhaps not a big issue for some, but I am now opting out with a refund of the initial £44. Looking at options out of Bristol...

Just a ticket update for those that might be worried. As the brand new stadium in Bratislava holds 22.500 we can no longer assume that the Slovaks will repeat their previous allocations to the Scots and English in the slightly SMALLER old stadium (around 1800 IIRC). After the Sales for HUNGARY (but before Croatia): 1260 have 7 or more of last 13 aways 1670 already had 6 of 13 (but didn't qualify for ticket purchase - and probably won't for Croatia game) I assume, that after the Croatia tickets there will be closer to 1100 on 8 of last 14 and that will most likely be the minimum requirement.
If we get 1670 or more, then its easy - just 6 out of 14 will be enough ;-)
Hopefully, corky will discuss with FAW later this month re our actual dealings with the Slovakia FA? Any thoughts?

If Slovakia are no longer in the running though....
Also, why can’t the FAW use the 1800 as evidence they have done it before? The England game probably sold out so why can’t we be treated as equals?

I am assuming that in the other stadium they had a similar issue as our own CCS where the away end could not comfortably be restricted to the 5% that was 900-1000 without losing out on ticket sales?

They didn’t sell out the game at home vs Hungary (at a smaller ground)
They play Azerbaijan and Hungary away with Croatia at home before they play us.
By then (hopefully) they will have nothing to play for

Flights booked (Brum - Vienna) staying in Vienna on Wednesday night, Bratislava after match - any accommodation recommendations?? My apartment in Bratislava old town from 2 years ago no longer operates, but I would highly recommend more time in Bratislava than in Vienna (unless you have never been to Vienna). Stunningly beautiful old town and fantastic food/beer. Half the price of Vienna. There are direct buses for €5 from Vienna airport to Bratislava. You can try IBIS Centrum, around £50/night right in the old town. I will spend 4 more nights in mid June, after the Budapest match - so will be back soon with updates :+)

Diolch Al My flight in October is also into Vienna and I land at 9pm. From memory, I am taking the 2230 bus that arrives Bratislava at 2310. Still plenty of time to catch a local bus on the other side. Although, Taxify and Uber in Bratislava are VERY cheap

anyone done any magic recently regarding flights? If flights are expensive, look at flying from Stanstead to Brno in the Czech Republic. It’s an hour and 20 from Bratislava and a decent flight time, about 2pm take off returning about 5.30pm. Transfers from Brno airport to the railway station are literally 10 mins, so there’s no issues.

Flights into Brno are up a good bit for those dates as England are away to the Czech Rep in that round of fixtures. There's plenty of options though.

We have booked Birmingham to Vienna flights, £110 return flying with Eurowings, also just booked Hotel Tatra in Bratislava for two nights (£41 each per night inc. breakfast and a 'welcome drink')

Look at Vienna and even Budapest for flights. Flixbus directly from Vienna airport takes only 45 minutes for €5. I am not sure about bus connection from Budapest airport to Bratislava, but the train from downtown Budapest takes 2 hours and costs €9. Note that for this international ticket you will only get a reservation booking number. You will need to print it out when you get to the station - it's not an e-ticket...
As for accommodation - Bratislava is really quite compact. As long as you are north of the river, anywhere between the old town and the Stadium will be just fine.

UPDATE... RegioJet operates a bus from Budapest Airport (BUD) to Bratislava twice daily. Tickets cost 5€ - 7€ and the journey takes 3h 25m. FlixBus also services this route twice daily. Alternatively, Deutsche Bahn operates a train from Budapest Airport (BUD) to Bratislava every 3 hours.

Hmmm.. Was in category 2 before the last double header and only attended Hungary away as I couldn't go to Croatia. If our allocation is only 1100 then I have reason to be worried I think :/

If they lose to Croatia in the game prior there may not be much locals interested?
