Did the little required of him well enough.
Rodon back to his best and was superb.

Was suspicious when he started earlier this season whether he’d be there next year. Was really average at best. But has grown hugely and now comfortable at this level. Will definitely be in the Swansea first team next year and not just because he’ll be the only one under contract.
But still not fully proven and shouldn’t be in the Euros squad. And he’s only just broken through so no expectation and I would definitely imagine him getting caps.

Swansea unchanged.
It'll be interesting to see how Joe & Ben cope with Mitrovic. Weren't really tested last game.

Never seen the lad play. Does he have pace?

He did ok. Roden was outstanding bar one slip in the first half. Swansea were robbed though.

He had a very good game until the last 10 minutes or so when he ducked a few balls. One was offside but caused a bit of panic. Joe had a few howlers in the first half, boots look like they're getting tighter on him game by game. Still a new partnership (they never crossed paths in u18s or u23s) but looks a lot more effective than the other options. Hopefully we stick with it.
It was a game that made defenders look good though, to put it kindly. Frantic, bitty, long ball stuff. Lots of crosses, corners.

Rodon made one significant error in the first half which could easily have resulted in a goal, but was magnificent second half, winning aerial challenge after aerial challenge up against Mitrovic. The goal when it came should have been disallowed, given that Mitrovic was gaining leverage off the back of Cabango's neck. But the referee was never going to give it. The worst refereeing display I have ever seen. Two stonewall penalties for Swansea not given, and a penalty that never was given against Swansea. Shocking.

Signed a new deal keeping him at the Swans until 2023:

Good performance today.
Boro had some big units up front and kept pumping balls in but never had any free headers.

i think with Rodon we need to keep the fact that it's his first full season in pro football in perspective. I like Mepham but have never been 'wowed' watching him as i have Rodon. I also think Cabango will be better than him to but that's my opinion. In any event we have three future top class centre halves who are all 6ft 3 plus. Rodon will be a real gem, can see him going to city and being groomed into their centre half for years to come.

This is Rodon's second full season with Swansea, ignoring the injury layoffs (which have been mostly unfortunate contact injuries), after half a season at Cheltenham on loan. I don't see Cabango being any better than Lockyer, personally.

Cabango has only just turned 20 and is 6ft 3 inches.
Tom Lockyr will be 26 this December and is 5ft 11 inches. He gave everything he had in our qualifiers which is all we can ask. However, he is not a good/great defender and made a few mistakes. He is neither physically dominant or particularly technically gifted, nor fast, but he will always give everything in a Wesh shirt.
Not many central defenders break though at 20 and Cabango seems to have physicality. When you have that and if you have the right attitude then you can be a more than useful player. I have no idea how he pans out. He may be worse than Lockyer. All I can see is it is impossible to predict how far he could go given his young age but he has time to develop and you would therefore perhaps assume he has more chance of being a regular fixture in Welsh squads over the next decade than Lockyer.

He's got a fair few faults to weigh against his impressive frame. Even at u23s level his technical limitations compared to other young Welsh centre halves (Rodon, Cian Harries, Brandon Cooper) were apparent. Bulked up since then but lost a touch of pace as well, especially on the turn.
Done well with the chances given him due to injuries and shocking loan signings at Swansea this season, but people shouldn't be getting their hopes up for another future top level gem. Lockyer's a good Championship-level defender who stayed at Bristol Rovers too long.

every time Ive seen Lockyer play for Wales he's been awful. Not very big, not very technical hoof merchant [/qu8ote] I don't think he was awful, but he was much worse than a lot of people were making out. He made at least one major error in each game which led to either a goal or a big chance. He doesn't seem to have any outstanding qualities, he's slightly underwhelming in each aspect (strength, pace, positioning, passing etc.). So personally, I think he will be a useful squad member going forward but definitely not a starter. I have few concerns about cabango too. He doesn't seem to be a naturally gifted footballer and looks very awkward on the ball. But he does have outstanding qualities in his physicality which, I agree, gives him a better chance of becoming an important squad member than lockyer.

every time Ive seen Lockyer play for Wales he's been awful. Not very big, not very technical hoof merchant Nonsense. He came in at an important time and helped us through some tricky games. We kept 3 clean sheets all campaign, Lockyer started in 2 of them and in the 4 games he started we only conceded twice. Is Lockyer perfect and the answer to all our defensive dreams? Of course not, but to label him awful based on his efforts in a successful campaign is ridiculous

Lockyer is a good player, but I'd be worried about throwing him into the deep end to face some of the top players in Europe. I'm excited about Cabango, he could be the next player to be capped. James Chester got motm the other day. On paper surely Chester-Rodon is a no brainer.

Cabanago was at fault for the goal, but both Roberts and Cabango only played as bad as the rest of the side. Everyone was really poor, there's a lack of consistency in the side and there performances are going to be up and down.

Team performances have been poor since the start of September, a few wins over the divisions weakest sides excepted. Little structure, no plan. Mark of a bad manager.

I thought Cabango had a decent game for most of the game, and was very unlucky not to score. Then he hit a wayward crossfield pass that almost led to a goal, and seemed to lose confidence, with the winner coming soon after. He needs to keep his chin up as he's done pretty well on the whole. I would expect Rodon to come back in for the next game mind, Swansea need his assurance in possession.

Difficult game for Ben but not James Collins is playing more centrally, he's a very difficult striker to face for several reasons.
Connor was very poor though against an average Lg. 1 striker playing his first game since about August as a right winger.
