Staying with #RUFC, Midfielder Will Vaulks has bagged 3 assists in his last 5 league games. Taking his tally for the season up to 6 assists, Including 2 assists today in front of Wales manager Ryan Giggs. Vaulks qualifies to play for Wales through his mother!

This seems a strange one
He’s 25 with little to suggest he’s better than what we’ve got or what’s coming through

With King injured, Ledley ageing, Edwards retired, we need to be looking at replacements. Sounds like this guy is captain of a Championship side, in good form, so why not consider him to replace the aforementioned squad players.

I don’t know anything about this bloke, what sort of player is he? Someone in the Ledley mould would be very welcome.

Some of them suggest that his passing is poor, but that he gives 100% and gets around the pitch a lot. The general opinion seems to be that he is a good lower half championship/league 1 player. Apparently Stoke, Cardiff and Sheffield United have been looking at him, but I'm not sure how accurate those reports are.

Brilliant spot, call him up Giggs!! ... And it seems that the lad also has a specially long throw as well (first assist, after 2') ;-)
This second, YouTube hand-held camera, just misses out on his long throw for the first goal and 2nd assist... but has another 2 of his long throws at 5'33'' and 11'...

Surely Lee Evans is next in line before Vaulks too but happy to increase the base and try in a friendly. We may unearth a diamond in the rough as we have done several times.

A nice summary here from a rotherham fan on twitter:
"A classic all action box to box midfielder. Great energy, a leader, thunderous shot and never hides when the going gets tough. We love him, he's a great fit for our club as he makes the most of his ability as we do. He's a top bloke, very active in the community."
He doesn't sound like the type of midfielder we need to be honest. As someone else said, we need a replacement for ledley - someone who can sit deep and mop up, someone who can step in until ampadu/smith are ready. He sounds like he's more in the Ramsey mould. Might prove an useful squad addition though

If he has the discipline I don't see why not, as it sounds like he has the physicality and work rate.

I would like to think our marker is 'top end championship' for squad members. Exceptions made for youngsters but generally someone who reaches 25/26 and ends up yoyo-ing from L1 and championship will not be up to international standard.

We keep saying that we have strength in depth of the squad but in reality, one injury to Andy King who hasn’t made half a dozen appearances all season, and we need to look at a 26 year old who’s playing career so far hasn’t got him above the bottom end of the championship.
Happy to give him a chance though, I’ve never seen him play so won’t judge him until then.

Never seen him play live but do know that at Falkirk he was used pretty much exclusively at Right-back so maybe he could do a job as a holder.
