My issue with the Scottish Prem loans is that unless a young player really excels there they tend to end up bottom end of the Championship/League One when they get sold on from their parent club. Can't think of any in recent years who have been loaned up there and it's done much for their career. Levitt & Woodburn spring to mind

Agree. My heart sunk when I saw this and just thought there’s another one who won’t hit the heights we were hoping for. Hope for Wales and his sake he proves us wrong.

Rubbish move.
Nearly 21 now so hardly a youngster anymore, another one who we thought was better than what he is.

Benefit of the doubt, didn't go well for him last season. 5 year contract at Liverpool don't get handed out for fun, he's obviously got something about him.

Even Neco who showed a lot of promise never made the grade there. I think Beck would have to really shine in this loan to ever get near that Liverpool team. Even if he does he'll be back up Best case scenario is this loan goes well, and he gets sold on to a good Championship club next season in my opinion

He's always stood out as one of the U21s' best players. I'm surprised how long it's taken for his club career to take off but glad he's doing well now. I think he could be the long-term answer at left back for us. Him on the left and Neco on the right could be a really potent attacking wing-back combo.

Really pleased for him. Always disappointed that we never filled the void left by RND. But hope Beck can become a mainstay of the squad if he puts in a good performance

He's been good for Dundee FC all season and is up against Rangers this evening, which should be a great test of where he is currently at. (Kick-off delayed until 8.30 due to traffic).

Beck is Dundee's best player and it's encouraging to see he's playing well and improving and one for the future. Norrington Davies was Sheff Utd's best player last season and if he comes back fit and playing I can see him being in March's squad. A fit ND at LB and Neco replacing Roberts would improve us.

Norrington Davies was Sheff Utd's best player last season and if he comes back fit and playing I can see him being in March's squad. A fit ND at LB and Neco replacing Roberts would improve us. RND's last game was 19th October 2022, he likely won't be getting any minutes for Sheffield until 2024 at the earliest. That's a hell of a long time to be out due to a hamstring injury. I'll never rule him out but I think it's a mammoth task to expect him to get back into that Sheffield starting XI this season If all goes well I'm hoping he'll be a regular for them in next season's Championship, but he'll be competing alongside Dasilva & Beck at that point, so no guarantees that he's straight back in. I hope all goes well for him, just a bit skeptical about why he's been out for so long with no real explanation

On Dasilva - seems he is on the bench and was not or hardly used in their last two matches? Any reason?

Both Robertson and Tsimikas are out injured so there's a decent chance Beck has been recalled to play in their absence. Big opportunity for him if that turns out to be the case.

Risky for Beck. Bet he plays one match and is then unable to be loaned out to another club, leaving him to play u21 matches until the season ends.
Hope I’m wrong, but this seems like a move that benefits Liverpool far more than it does Beck himself progression-wise.

This is a huge chance for Beck, he could end up playing a number of Premier League and Champions League games, he could end up winning the league, grabbing the left back spot for Wales and then forcing an issue at right back that I'd more than welcome. That's the best case scenario. Klopp wouldn't recall him if he didn't trust him though, he'd go into the transfer market and sign someone, he clearly trusts him and has history with doing things like this at Dortmund.

It has the potential to be a good move by Klopp, he does have a history for giving young players a chance and showing faith in them. Looking at it from Beck's perspective, he won't get a better chance than both first choice left backs being injured.

Willing to bet a reasonably amount of money that he’ll only get off the bench half a dozen times or less, if that. I’d preferred to have seen him finish off the season and Dundee playing for games and build on that.

Think he's the best player in the SPL this season outside of the OF teams, except maybe Shankland. Not a great league but impressive for a 21 year old all the same.

It's on, I have a really good feeling about this and I was doubting Beck a bit at the start of the season. Klopp wouldn't call him back if he didn't have confidence in using him, it's happening, this is the start of something special, keep the faith!

"Celtic wanted to sign Beck permanently, while Rangers were simply hoping to get him on loan for the rest of the season as their new first-choice left-back. Liverpool, however, didn't entertain either option and have rejected the proposals.
Beck will instead remain at Anfield. Robertson is expected back in late January, though he may not be ready for regular first-team football until some way into February. Tsimikas will be out well into next month.
Thus Beck should get some minutes in his favoured position. There's every expectation that he'll be in the squad for the FA Cup tie against Arsenal on Sunday - he may even start.
In doing so, Liverpool free-up Joe Gomez to play at right-back or centre-back again. And from there, Trent Alexander-Arnold could play in midfield. Beck is a bit of a missing puzzle piece here and one that could be invaluable at Anfield over the next month or so.
If he performs well, Celtic and Rangers will certainly be back in for him this summer. Perhaps a few Premier League sides will have an eye out, too. Either way, it's an exciting time for Beck - let's see what he can do."

I’d preferred to have seen him finish off the season and Dundee playing for games and build on that. To be honest, if he has half a dozen or so appearances for the side top of the Premiership, with Europa, Fa cup and Carabao cup games to come, it will be a nice addition to the half a season in the Scottish premiership. Great bit of progress at his age.

Feels like a bit of a crossroads moment. If he gets 10-odd appearances under his belt and impresses (at least enough to be considered a viable back-up), then I think staying at Liverpool will have been a positive thing. If he struggles in terms of performances / appearances, then it could stall the momentum in his development and block some good opportunities to become Celtic or Rangers' first choice left back. If he were to move to one of those two clubs and impress for a season or two, I'm sure he'd be back in the English prem quickly enough and with a good amount of senior football behind him.

At 21, he's got to take the opportunity to put himself in the shop window on a global stage. Outside of Liverpool & Scotland, I don't think many people know who he is, and even in Wales he's hardly a household name. As Delboy used to say, he who dares wins!
