Read that Celtic are after him but Liverpool holding out for more money.
I'm worried about this potential move a little bit - our most recent movers to Scotland have drifted a little with the exception of Matt Smith who may be reviving his career - but still think it's possible to make something out of any move.
Frustrated with Liverpool, if the reports are true, who are negotiating with a player on his way out just so they don't get reputation for soft negotiation. Player who has come through your youth system needs to move, so do right by him.
Maybe they are and I just have read the situation wrong.

Not opposed him going to Celtic. They've got a decent track record of nurturing players and selling them on, think . Scotland in general bar the Old Firm. Obviously, our young lads have gone there with good intentions of getting minutes but does seem a place easier to get stuck and lost in the wilderness of it.

I worry when they go to any club other than Celtic or Rangers, but both of those are a good enough level to develop our young players. Celtic would be a great move for Beck in my opinion

I think this would be a great move for Cardiff personally. Cardiff have had three main problem areas for a while now, which are at left back, right wing (until El Ghazi builds up some fitness at least), and centre forward. This would address the first two by allowing O'Dowda to move up to left wing and Willock could go out to the right instead of Meite or Tanner - both of whom aren't up to it imo.
Beck had a fantastic season last year where he was the best left back in the SPL bar none. After the McGuiness sale, Cardiff actually have a bit of cash to spend - they've already used some of it on their new Danish centre back, but should have enough left to meet the £3m asking price for Beck.
I'm confident that Beck is already good enough for the Championship and am certain that he'll become a top Championship left back minimum within the next couple of years, and wouldn't be surprised to see him playing a lot of his career in the prem eventually. Would also much prefer to see Beck test himself in the Championship than having a much easier ride with Celtic in the SPL - it would be much better for his development imo.
So a great move all round

Think Will Fish has a fee with his transfer so not sure if there's much money left from the McGuinness sale.
Weird transfers Cardiff. Brought in a few players and still not really addressed the key areas they need to strengthen

Very frustrating, Owen Beck would have been a similar fee to the two centre backs they've just signed and in a position that's more needed in my (and I think most fans') opinion - and he's Welsh!

Brought in a few players and still not really addressed the key areas they need to strengthen We're hearing the initial fee we have paid is a club record £6m. But you gave Arsenal a 25% sell-on so are cashing in £4.5m from it. So with Daland costing a rumoured £3.5m(?), you are clearing about a million plus 75% of any of the clauses that McGuiness hits.

I think the Daland deal is another one of those "up to" fees, bonuses for promotion, games played etc

Brought in a few players and still not really addressed the key areas they need to strengthen Its weird, there seems to be two different groups of people signing players for Cardiff because they don't really mesh together well. It looks pretty clear that there are "recruitment team" signings and then "Bulut signings" You have a group of younger players coming in that fit a certain profile of technically pretty good maybe lacking physically - Robertson, Tsunoda, Turnbull, McGuinness and Etete. Looks like Fish and Daland may fit into this category And then you have a group that quite clearly look like Bulut's picks, generally older, more physical and often having played in Greece/Turkey - Siopis, Goutas, Diedhiou, Runnarsson, Meite etc

Mainz the latest linked to Beck Now that’s a move I could get behind. Given the right environment, I think he could really fly.

If he can get minutes there, he's definitely a shoo-in for getting a cap this season I reckon at some point.
Jay DaSilva not playing much for Coventry other than a few minutes off the bench.

Good move for him, but really annoyed that Cardiff haven’t gone in for him when it’s a position they’re really lacking in. Hopefully he has a stormer and makes them look silly

Shame it's only a loan. He's 22 now and clearly not in Liverpool's plans. Needs a new permanent home.

To be fair, his career pattern thus far has been: - highly promising youth player up to the age of 20 and impressive in brief cup and friendly appearances with the first team - failed loan in the Portuguese top flight and in League 1 with Bolton at the age of 20 where he barely played - highly successful loan with a bottom SPL side at 21 where he was the best left back in the league
I really like the look of him and think he has the key ingredients to be a really good player, but he still has a lot to prove until he can reasonable push himself into the thoughts of the new Liverpool Manager. A Championship move makes the most sense for him this season. If he really impresses this season and tears it up at Championship level, I imagine he'll get a chance with Liverpool in pre-season and beyond potentially next year. Anything less than that and Liverpool are probably looking at cashing in next year to a lower Prem / top Championship level side (depending on how well he does this year).

he was selected for March / June squads ahead of the squad being published but as is the norm, players and clubs are told well beforehand of call ups he had to withdraw from both due to injury (March) and not fully recovered (June)

Playing well and holding firm, when called upon. I was expecting Connor Roberts to be running t him down the wing, but looks to me that Roberts is playing much more central today.
