Will be interesting to see what happens, the manager losing his job so quickly after loan announced not ideal, but even in most difficult of circumstances there is opportunity to work hard and take lessons from it.
Hopefully it will set him up for a bit more positive loan in the summer for next season.

See what happens first. Doesn't look a great move on paper but let's see after 8 or so FGR games

Don't get the overall sentiment here. It's his first foray into senior football, it's not like he's going to have his pick. If he ends up with a decent amount of gametime in League 1, it will have been a successful loan spell in my book

There is this, it's Robbie's son and he's on loan from Man Utd, if he plays it could draw attention to the club, particularly if he plays well and fortunes change for them, this might be an incentive to give him a go, especially as the others haven't exactly been playing like Iniesta and Pirlo.

If Charlie impresses in training and looks better than those that have been starting and failing he might get a chance, then it's up to him to take it. Wonder if Big Dunc and his dad see eye to eye lol

On the bench today, number 48, as Forest Green go in at half time 1-0 up

Didn't get on as Forest Green dropped three points in injury time, conceding in the 94th and 98th minutes. Of the two midfielders that started in the centre of the park for Forest Green, Stevenson got an assist for the goal and McGeouch was replaced by Peart-Harris. I think he's going to have to bide his time and hope that results improve to get on the pitch.

Wouldn't expect him to go into the starting lineup straight away anyway

Wouldn't expect him to go into the starting lineup straight away anyway Neither would I but a bit disappointed not to see him get on the pitch. Disappointed but not surprised. I still think he’s not going to get much of a look in. Ferguson especially strikes me as the type to favour old pros over kids in a relegation fight.

Not making the bench for the last two games after watching them from the bench as they threw away a 1-0 lead deep into injury time to lose when he first arrived. In many ways he's gone somewhere to get the experience of training with worse facilities and with inferior players at a struggling club, it might help him or it might be almost utterly pointless as he nears his 20th birthday without a senior appearance. One part of me says early days yet, the other part of me says this is a balls up, signed before the new manager came in for a side that are now four points adrift at the bottom of the league having played one, two or three games more than all those around them. Stick that on the scales and balls up comes in heavier.

Off the bench in the 66th minute for his first appearance in men's league football.

First start in league football for Charlie today, I think Ferguson must like what he sees.

With injuries and retirements it looks like young Charlie could be making the squad soon almost by default.

How's B. Cooper getting on at FG? Should be back home at Swansea. He'd walk into the team given how shambolic the Swans are at the back.

Probably a good move, needs senior football and has just broken into the first team. No doubt about his committment so I see no harm in continuing with FGR for now

Doesn't this question the logic behind Savage's inclusion in the squad, he obviously knows he has little chance of playing so from his own point of view his preference is to turn down this opportunity of being involved with the international setup, so already he's showing where his allegiance lies and it's his first call up. Secondly, why has Page called him up knowing full well he won't play, is it a convenient excuse so that he doesn't have to call up players he personally does not want ? If it was an England call up would he have made the same decision ?

Why is Page getting the blame when it’s surely Bodin’s fault? Its always Bodin's fault

Yesterday I think Charlie played in a more advanced role. He's been getting good reviews and I'm glad he's getting senior experience. Next season he will get a decent loan move for the season and, if we qualify, I'm almost certain that unless something goes horribly wrong he'll be at Euro 2024, that's my gut feeling with him.

Good luck to him, a sensible decision at this stage by Matty Jones and Charlie Savage.

I don't mind him experiencing different positions but English football has a problem with making every creative player a 10/wide forward and then wondering why they can't control the ball from the base of midfield, and I really hope our Charlie doesn't fall victim to that.
