wonder if he gets call up to the squad as CM looks light, rather than bring in another forward

A long range goal is definitely a trait of his - a rare thing amongst modern players! Great to see & more importantly it's good to see that he seems to have established himself at League One level at quite a young age. Should be in the Championship in the next few years

Should be in the Championship in the next few years I wouldn't get too far ahead of myself. He hasn't established himself yet - he was on the bench first game and then has started the next three. He's scored 3 brilliant goals as you say which is great, but that should always just be a bonus to what a player in his position can offer because it's not sustainable for him to do that week in week out. He won't get more than 5 long distance goals a season, it probably just so happens he's had three of them in the first few weeks this season. So the key for him is to make sure he can do the bread and butter to a good standard. He was in and out of the team all of last season which suggests he wasn't consistently effective enough. It sounds like he had a great game yesterday beyond the goal so he does have it in him, but the test will be whether he continues to impress and keeps his place when the screamers inevitably dry up. He still has a lot to prove at League 1 level, it's another question entirely then as to whether he can step up at Championship level

POTM according to Fotmob yesterday with a 8.3 rating. Also 8 and 7.7 ratings in two other games. Encouraging.

He made 40 appearances in the league. Yes not all of those were starts but it's completely fair to manage the minutes of a 20 year old player in his first full season at senior level

Yes not all of those were starts but it's completely fair to manage the minutes of a 20 year old player in his first full season at senior level I think you're being kind. I tend to monitor which players are starting every week (sad, I know) and there were long periods last season where Savage would start numerous games on the bench, before getting a recall for a couple of games and then back on the bench. He certainly wasn't pulling up any trees, and I'm fairly sure he was on the bench as other players were preferred, as opposed to managing his minutes given his age. Great to see he's started this year so well though and I certainly think he has the potential to kick on, but just pointing out there's still a lot for him to prove and nothing's inevitable about him moving up the leagues.

Goal and an assist on the weekend as Reading beat Crawley 4-1. Played the full 90
3 goals and an assist in 9 league games with Reading sat in mid table

Not sure what to make of him. He was dropped for a good 3 to 5 games before the international break and had 0 impact for the u21s against Czechia. He looks technically very decent, but often struggles to influence games, which is very problematic for a midfielder! But I wonder if he’d do much better under Bellamy if given a very specific role as a 6
