Made the squad and listed as a midfielder which is interesting. Sometimes it's for no reason, but I don't see why they wouldn't have him as a forward? Maybe Bellamy has a different plan for him?
The way things work these days with inverted full backs, it would completely surprise me if Sorba is seen as someone who could perform that role

Great to see him back in the squad.will be interesting to see if he’s still in it when the likes if Brooks and Burbs come back from injury. Hope he takes his chance.

Agree but unless he swore at Page in front of other players then I find his exclusion from the squad by Page this year disappointing - look at what he has done - gone to a foreign country, which is a very mature and brave step at a still youngish age. The way Sorba was excluded had echoes of Lawrence (and perhaps Mantando for a while). The latter two of those can make a difference in a tight game with a moment of magic, but can also be maddening in terms of their inconsistency, while Sorba is more consistent given the regularity of his assist stats (with the odd goal added for good measure) but is perhaps less capable of a magic moment. Really hope Thomas can add the wing back option to his game
The great thing is Mantando is still just 23 (24 in September!) and Sorba is only 25. They both have time to grow into the finished article

Played 74 minutes of a 3-1 victory away at Montpellier which sees Nantes in third place after three games, it looks like Sorba is doing pretty well there.

Seems a natural deputy for DJ now, brilliant to see that he's back to his best. He's a great character to have in the squad

Well though he played playing on the left it nullified his crossing threat to an extent. It would be good to see him switch with Johnson on the right. Johnson really struggled with his crossing last night, Sorba's biggest strength is his crossing so we need to utilise that.

Just to answer this, Brennan is statistically one of the best low crossers of the ball in the PL. Spurs bought him to flash balls across the 5 yard box. It was super effective when they had a proper 9 hitting that run but less so when playing makeshift wingers up top. With his pace and defensive work rate I think we can definitly make good use of him in the medium to long term if we get people attacking that box properly. Sorba was great aswell yesterday and I'm just glad we have options...

Interesting that he said something about having to adjust his personality. I remember an interview when he was at Huddersfield talking about when he first moved to pro football from non-league. He said he was drinking a can of coke before the game and all of the other pros looked at him like "what are you doing?!" and he had no clue that was a strange thing to do before a game. He said he learned quickly how to professionalise himself after that, but I wonder if other things like that he's taken a bit of time to adjust to. Adjustments to being in highly professional environments might be tough for someone who comes from a background in the game like Sorba had
Pleased to see him doing well and hope he really establishes himself as a top flight player in Europe

But I think getting players to switch sides especially if one is struggling, makes sense. Sorba had the best crossing stats in the Championship last season so no slouch either. With Johnson on the left he could emulate Sorba by cutting in from the left and taking shots at goal.

On the beach today and came on, I hope this is just a rotation thing and not him becoming benched.
