This squad needs new blood. Get Sorba in. Get Doidge in when fit. Needs a little shake up here and there. Everything a bit too cozy with current crop. We're not going to win this group and are unlikely to finish second, so we need to use the remaining games to get the likes of Sorba Thomas, Jack Vale and Dan Williams blended into the squad before the playoffs! I know next to nothing about Dan Williams, care to expand on his position etc.

Great news! He could really lift our campaign after the low of this result. I'd go into the Czech game like this... Ward Mepham-Rodon-Davies James-Allen-Ampadu-Sorba Bale-Moore-Ramsey

Will there be a friendly before the double header, if there is and he wants to represent Cymru he plays a full 90.

Great question, my God do we need a friendly after that performance. Toothless

Problem is left wing is the position we least need reinforcements in with James playing there and Johnson as understudy. As a Man U fan I can affirm than Daniel James is simply not effective on the right hand side. Brooks and Wilson would be more effective in that position so you'd have to drop James really to accommodate Sorba which would make little sense as James is one of our most important players. Nice to have options though.

Pace is absolutely essential for lesser nations as ourselves. As last night proved, we haven't got a depth of skillful talent but how many free kicks and subsequent yellow cards does Dan James win each game? James and Thomas would have teams constantly scared, the Belgians are ancient at the back and snail paced with it, pace is the way we beat them because, Moore aside, there doesn't look to be anyone international ready to be a goalscorer for us.

Page can't continue to ingnore 2 strikers in L1, and enough of his 'he needs to work on some things' in regards to Jepchott. When he continues to pick Morrell, and his limitations are all to obvious. It’s a shame the ‘B’ international died out. It’s a real chance for Doidge, Hedges, Maxwell and other players. Clubs to powerful for that fixture to exist these days Given how loosely friendlies are used these days I don’t think B internationals are needed. Just arrange a game against a weak opponent and pick a team based on fringe/untried players, don’t think designating it a ‘B’ international would accomplish much in and of itself. The game vs Mexico was arguably a B team game.

Yeah he plays LWB, and to me that just shows James can also be a RWB as they are very similar. It's the obvious answer to our problems, and enables us to fit everyone into their best positions - will Page do it though? Not sure, he seems very wedded to the 4-2-3-1 which is a shame

I think he'll be making the next squad, you can't have players like Woodburn getting called up ahead of him.

Skybet Championship player of the month. He said one of his aims is to 'get into the Wales squad'. He seems keen! Very good signs.

I'd be very surprised if he made the match day squad, and no way in hell he'll be playing knowing Page.
If it was Giggs, I think he would have chucked him in the mix, but Page seems very conservative and almost scared to make any radical and tactical changes (which are needed).

The mad thing is you look at Sorba and he's done more, in one month, than some of our recent squads, at club level, have done in their careers (not their fault in some cases as they are just very young), player of the month in the Championship should make you an undeniable call up so fingers crossed Page gives him the chance he deserves.

I would be surprised if he doesn't get selected. If he doesn't, questions should rightly be asked. I get annoyed when people make a massive deal out of not picking the likes of Bradshaw, Jephcott or a third choice keeper, but Sorba Thomas has done more than enough to show he has the quality to be a real asset for us.

Don't think it would work having him and James both together on the left side, they'd just be getting in each other's way and James is ineffective on the right generally. We need a friendly match or two to experiment where to fit him in really. He's certainly not taking Davies' spot at left back

Just out of interest what is the official line on pronunciation of his first name?
Saw as in to saw something.
Sob as in to cry
Sobe as in sober (not drunk)
Any best guess / idea?
Edit. For reasons best known to herself my mother always pronounced an S as a Z so on that premise he could be Zorba!!!

But this boy needs to be in there. Bavies to LCB for me.

In true West Walian fashion, I've been pronouncing it Sorrrrba. Emphasis on the R. Most likely wrong.

What a journey from Boreham Wood in non-league to Wales first team if he gets the call. A great story. I thought originally he must be 17 odd but he's 22.

Hopefully will not need Gunter as a back up moving forward:
Thomas has excelled for Huddersfield wherever he is played. The player has played as both winger and a wing-back and on both sides of the pitch. He feels that he does not have a set position for him
On Wales:
“It would make me and my family so proud. To even be on the radar of my country when this time last year they probably didn’t even know who I was is a dream come true for me. I hope that dream can become a reality.”
