Let's hope he harnesses his abilities more than his dad did, what a player he should have been.

Lewis Koumas Terence Miles Tom Hill All Eligible to play for Wales Terence Miles is a strong centre-back who made his U18s debut as an U16 player in 2020-21. Terence first arrived at the Academy as an U7 player and is the nephew of former Liverpool Academy striker John Miles. He will be a first-year scholar in 2021-22. Tom Hill is a midfielder who signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool FC in October 2020. Hailing from Formby, Tom has been at the Academy since U6 level and featured for the U18s and U23s as a first year in 2019-20. He normally plays on the right side of midfield and can also fill in at right-back. Tom made his senior debut for the club at Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup in December 2019 and his development was rewarded when he signed his first professional contract with the Reds in February 2020. He then penned fresh terms in August that year and later signed a new long-term deal in October after turning 18. Tom is currently undergoing a period of rehabilitation with the Academy's medical staff following a knee operation in September 2020.

Let's hope he harnesses his abilities more than his dad did, what a player he should have been. Agree, he was a very underrated player, and has a better game to goal ratio for us than Ramsey. Not comparing them, because I know the Ramsey defensive team will be out in force. But the guy was something special, and had something stopping him from reaching the tops. Easily the 2nd best no10 we've produced in the last 20 odd years.

I remember watching him live and on the TV on a number of occasions when he was at Tranmere, tearing it up against the likes of Everton, thinking that he looked like the complete attacking midfielder, great touch, awareness, vision and accurate with everything that he did. 1.30, the pass at 2.10 and then an assist at 3.10 www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FYy3Z3COKk

Wasn't Koumas terrified of flying like Bergkamp was so his international away games were limited?

I presume Koumas the younger will have the option of Cyprus, Wales and England.

Has he had any involvement in the international set-up in the past? I don’t think I’ve seen his name in relation to Cymru.
Surely nailed on for a call-up. Just hope he’d accept it.

Would he be eligible for Cyprus too? Yes, Jason’s Dad is from Cyprus so Lewis would qualify with the Grandparents rule

With any luck he’ll be with the u19s next possible international break, albeit playing a year up. His brother considers himself Welsh so that’s a good sign! Wouldn’t hurt to see Omari Benjamin in the squad either- fitness providing

Meh, not sure if it's a good idea that any young Welsh player signs for a top 6 club. Look how it's worked out for Ampadu, Wilson, Neco, Levitt, Woodburn etc. Loans, loans and more loans.

Not sure, although he does have the Jamaican and Barbados flag on his socials. Imagine he’s eligible for England too

Has Lewis shown any interest in playing for Wales?
Wasn't his dad waiting to get picked for England and joined Wales late in his career?

Is that true about Jason?
I can’t recall that, doesn’t mean it isn’t the case. The only media I can find states he only wanted to play for Wales. He was capped in his early 20’s.
Not sure regarding Lewis. Doesn’t look like he’s played internationally at any level. It would be good to see him commit.

There was some talk of Cyprus but can’t remember anything about England.
He was at Tranmere until his early 20s so if he was hoping for an England call up then it would have been some story if he had managed to get one. Tranmere haven’t a long history of producing England internationals.
He went to West Brom after that and was (very) slightly more likely to get an England call there but he’d already played for Wales by then (I think)

It was never England he had a “tough” choice between wales and Cyprus. When we played Cyprus and beat them 3-1 I seem to remember articles in paper about the tough choice had to make. Koumas then actually scored in that game.

That’s class. I reckon we should employ Gareth to post comments on eligible players’ social media accounts to get them to commit. Ash Phillips next Gaz!

Now that he doesn't have to spend his time training, the Bale PR machine can go into full effect haha! Nah that's actually class, and I'm sure it means a lot to young eligible players!

I don't really get why we're not promoting some of the best talent from our u17s group up to the u19s similar to what we've done with Crew to the u21s. As I understand it, we currently don't have an u18 side (I don't think that's an official UEFA/FIFA age category, but many national sides have them to play friendlies I think), so unless we set one up, the u17s are left in limbo. It would have been nice to see the likes of Roberts, Issaka, Biancheri, Perrett, and Lawlor with the u19s to reward them for what they achieved at u17 level. Makes my heart skip a beat to see the name Koumas in there. Still without a doubt the most skilful player I have ever witnessed for Wales. I appreciate different people will have different views on skilful! Some talk today that England are trying to poach him www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12149091/Liverpool-youngster-Lewis-Koumas-caught-tug-war-England-Wales.html
