His Dad was the most exciting Cardiff City player of my youth so hopefully he sticks with us. It's the Daily Mail so written with English perspective and I'm not going to give it the attention it wants. Am sure we'll go through the regular process of making the players feel welcome, feel like part of a family and show how they can have something more, as well as the success, here rather than just being the next hate-figure for Mail, Talksport etc.

Please, please, please Lewis Koumas turn out to be a wonderful footballer and a wonderful footballer in a Wales shirt. I still play LMA Manager 2007 and I build my teams around Jason Koumas and basically help him become the best footballer in the World! What a player he could have been and what a player he was on his day, a lot of people I know have him down as one of the best players they've seen live, one of my mates says he's the best he's ever seen live! Please, Lewis, do what your dad couldn't and turn out to be a mercurially talented player that can harness their ability.

Good to see so many appreciative of what a player Jason was.
I know a lot of people didn't rate him or thought he had attitude problems but on his day he was outstanding. No great turn of speed but could beat a man with intelligence.
Very much in the Le Tissier / Gascoigne mould, two footballers with no real turn of pace but an abundance of skill.
Young Koumas was flying a Wales flag on one of his social media posts so let's hope he is sensible and sticks with us.

I'd swap half the talent of his Dad for twice the application right now

Linked with loan moves away from Liverpool - still only 17 so a real testament to his ability that clubs are asking

Best thing he can do is go on loan, impress then look for a permanent move. Theres no way he’ll be making that Liverpool team.

He is 17 and with the first team in pre-season for gods sake. Let’s not write him off just yet.

I think he's a talented kid, but Liverpool have no interest in developing Welsh talent. Reality check needed. You're unbelievably incapable of looking at things objectively if you continue to believe the likes of Wilson, Woodburn, and Neco have been hard done by. Liverpool and all other clubs treat their Welsh prospects like any prospects of other nationalities. They're their assets. If they're deemed good enough, they'll be given an opportunity. If they're not, they'll be used to source as much funding as possible. That's football.

Do you really believe Liverpool give a crap where players are from? they would go to the moon if it meant digging up the next messi, thinking they don't play players because they are welsh is just a persecution complex, pretty worrying way to go through life (well i'd be worried if i thought like that)

Historically over the last 5-10 years, Welsh players haven't been given much of a chance at the big clubs, so therefor it would make sense for young Welsh players to consider their future at an early stage. Hardly worrying.

Hardly worrying. "Welsh players haven't been given much of a chance at the big clubs" That's true, but it's not because they're Welsh. I imagine it's also true to say that 90-95% of academy prospects are not given a chance at the big clubs. It's nothing to do with their nationality, and all to do with ability and the big clubs' understandable preference for proven talent (unless something out of the ordinary comes through their ranks that's worth investing in).

Played last night and involved in the build up for one of the goals. You can see the Koumas technique from this pass alone. Hope he gets a loan asap

Pretty sure that was last week, where he came on for the last 20mins or so and received a bit of praise (particularly for his role in that goal). He did also come on yesterday, at half time - so a fair bit more gametime. He wasn't very good in that game unfortunately from what I've read. They also played another 17yo winger yesterday who got a lot of praise, so Koumas jnr seems to have a bit of competition within his own age group. As with any promising youngster, the odds are stacked against him making that Liverpool first team. Would be interesting to see how he does on loan.

Outside chance of senior debut in Gibraltar friendly? E.g. he would be about 10 months older than Ampadu was when he made his first start. Not sure it'll happen under current regime though.

Not the right time to do it, would be better to focus on giving more games to other players who are closer to making an impact for us e.g; Luke Harris, Jordan James, Tom Lowery, Terry Taylor, Owen Evans, Joe Low, Morgan Fox, David Brooks, Oli Cooper, Nathan Broadhead, Tom Bradshaw

Koumas does need fast-tracking to U21s.It is not like the U21s are free-scoring.Seems at the moment very much a policy of next to nothing fast-tracking in the system.

What are you basing your ‘next to no fast-tracking’ on? We’ve got loads of players playing above their age range and the senior team has been including players way under 21 for years.

Average age of the last squad is 26 so hardly a bunch of old men Who from the u21s could you really call up to the seniors? Colwill and Savage maybe? Possibly Joe Low or Owen Beck? Most either play youth football or at a lower level than our seniors

Luke Harris and Charlie Crew who are both Under-19 age are both playing Under-21 level now so you can't say the fast tracking is not happening.
