Will Evans probably Harris too Evans would be the better fit IMO but dont mind who it is as long as we try with someone who is going to finish, if we can address that we have the makings of a really good team playing lovely high energy football. I am very happy with the way things are going really positive start Marley Watkins worth a shout too, hard worker, decent goal scorer in the SPL! probably on the old side now but you never now

Bellamy’s been a breath of fresh air with his messages and press conferences. Finally we have someone that has big ambitions for the side and wants to play with a more modern approach! Last night’s performance was brilliant, especially in the first half. In the 2nd half when they went down to 10 men we struggled to break them down - Connor had a good game but 2nd half when Turkey were in a low block, he moved into CM a lot and I think at times they should’ve told him to get wide again to stretch turkey a bit as it became quite congested which is what they wanted imo. I loved bellamy’s post match interview, where he said - the players are perfectly capable of playing it in a rondo in training so why not in and around our own box, control emotions and just play, fans might get nervous and mistakes will happen but over time it will benefit us hugely. A positive first game, a slight worry is squad depth - if Davies / Rodon or Ampadu / JJ get injured we’re lacking a bit, but hopefully players like Savage and Cabango can progress a bit. Atmosphere was ok but not great, theres a lot more event goers at wales game now which isn’t a bad thing but I think it pulls away from the atmosphere, we could also do with some new chants and maybe move away from yma o hyd a bit IMO. The stadium was rocking under Cookie’s football and I Think Bellamy can do the same, but the new generation of fans could do with coming up with new chants and songs. Looking forward to Monday night, will we see Harris and Colwill feature? Both in good form and offer something a bit different. Exciting times for sure Agree its so refreshing and I know I have said it before but the appointment of Crofts is brilliant that is a problem for sure. IMO I see Low as going to be a better player than Mepham/Cabango he is strong reads game well and uses the ball well so I would be giving him a go its the tweaking of the system up top now- we need someone to finish and he may start with trying Brennan in middle Wilson on right, but again IMO a goal scorer will need to come in at 9 and we will find that sweet spot but it will take a little time it might not be a traditional 9 but someone like koumas

Another thing that's worth saying is we kept a clean sheet. Something that was becoming rarer under Page, it felt like we would always concede. This way of playing, keeping the ball and pressing high, it actually gives us a better chance of keeping a clean sheet. The expected goals data shows that
Dominating the ball and dominating territory takes the pressure off so much

I don't understand Rodon taking that chance with his left, instead of his right, he was never going to control the ball with his left hence the miss.

I don't understand Rodon taking that chance with his left, instead of his right, he was never going to control the ball with his left hence the miss. I thought this. He could also have just passed across goal and there were 2 players following it in, even a scruffy pass would have been fine. Should have just concentrated on getting it back across goal either with a shot or pass or combination of both

It was a poor effort no mistake, but the combination of leaning back and taking the ball on the half volley had predictable consequences. He almost needed to get his studs on the ball to keep it down.

I genuinely thought, on replay, that he was trying to pass back across goal.

I do not think that anyone else mentioned it but the referee was superb.
