I seem to recall there being a spell in Leeds' first PL seadon where he played a bit and was doing well, may have had some goals disallowed?

Very good move. The system we currently play also suits him very well, where he could step into the Harry Wilson role if needed. Far too early to give up on him yet

Just scored a cracker for QPR in the cup Why can’t he do that for Wales?! Making his first appearance in the carabao cup does rather suggest he’s down the pecking order at the moment mind.

Nah he’s just come back from injury. Building fitness. Hopefully a run of games at QPR will give him the confidence to start doing that for us. I still maintain that there’s a very good player there.

I'll scream it til I'm blue in the face - he's not a striker! Play him at no.10 or advanced no.8 in a Wales shirt and we'll see the best of him. Keep playing him at 9 where he isn't suited and the fans will keep being skeptical

Not saying he's first in line as back up but that is his position.

He's 23, why has he been written off by some on here already? Some players blossom later, what was Kieffer doing when he was 23? I know the answer but that is a fine example of what I'm saying.

Absolutely right. Give the guy a chance. Sometimes, all it takes is a manager to recognise where a player fits best, give him a run of games and all of a sudden we're all singing his name on the terraces.

Tyler Roberts has to score.
That should be 2-1 QPR..... thats taken from the B.B.C report on the match tonight, but then later it says tyler roberts goes off end a good performence ?? so it seems like he is adding something to a team on a fine run in the championship.Time to except though that he will never be that good or composed infront of goal unless he improves dramatically but he is good on the ball and had undoubted skill,so where do we fit him in?

He missed a very scoreable header - I assume that's what they're referring to? However, he was lucky not to be injured after this shocking attempt at a tackle from Carroll:

Watched the first half, and it was a classic Tyler Roberts type performance. Some good touches on the ball / skillful bits of play, but drifted in and out slightly. Had one very good chance which he did ok with, but it was a typical Tyler Roberts finish - well placed effort hit with no conviction at all. He never seems to put his foot through the ball.

Great skill and finish for his first today.
Ironically, he, alongside Woodburn, were the big 2 kids coming through. Tyler is so infuriating though - he seems to have everything but is seldom productive on a regular basis! Maybe he can still kick on to be a much better player.
He definitely has a much higher ceiling and skill set than Mark Harris.

Yeah always showed quality touches, but for me should only be called back in when he shows more consistency and decides his position

He needs to get into the habit of doing that, he has the ability. Idk what it is with him, just lacks self-belief or something.

Yeah always showed quality touches, but for me should only be called back in when he shows more consistency and decides his position I beg to differ! Way better than Harris, should get in ahead of Joniesta and also Colwill - who is yet to even nail a starting spot at Cardiff (albeit injuries have played a part). I am not a fan of his but he has a higher ceiling than Harris and has more chance of affecting a game, he has more potential and growth than Joniesta and Colwill needs to start delivering on his promise because so far he has done nothing exceptional

Tyler only just turned 24 three days ago!
He has 179 appearances and 24 goals
Mark Harris is a month older and has 134 appearances and 16 goals, despite consistently playing further forward.
I am not saying Tyler is great, just that on balance I'd rather rely on him for a piece of brilliance because he is capable even if he never produces it consistently. You could almost compare him to Robson-Kanu, who was not exactly prolific either.

Great to see him score two goals.
The bit of skill for the goal was superb, but I'm not surprised, he's always had great feet and technique.
He's always been an odd one for me. Technically, a very good player, probably one of the best in our squad, but either lacks confidence or desire.
Regarding comparisons to Harris, Roberts is a much better footballer. He's played in the PL ffs. Harris probably wouldn't get into any other ch'ship side if we're being honest with ourselves.
He needs to be brought back into the squad if he continues to play regularly and score the odd goal. At the moment the following players could be competing for spaces:
Roberts Colwill Harris Matondo Cullen Cooper
Then you've got others like Aaron Collins, Mullin, Broadhead, Popov, Woodburn (Bradshaw anyone?) who also could be looked at.

That is a beautiful piece of skill, I'd love to think that he can push on and maybe into his mid to late twenties really blossom but we need consistency from him, not the odd reminder that he has ability.

I didn't see the game but the internet reports I've seen suggest his starting position was as wide right player. He's not a striker for me but when people spoke about Bale staying on against Croatia to ensure we didn't go down to 10 men they should also say Tyler Roberts stepped up to take onus off a cramped Bale regarding off the ball work. It was good to see then, as this moment of skill is now.
