Fair play to Hennessey, always seems to find a way of staying in the Premier League. When Ward got the number 1 shirt he should have been finished internationally but fought back and was a wall against Ukraine. No reason he can't do that for Forest.
I would prefer he was playing every week but he'll want to play in the World Cup and will know the best way of achieving that. There's just as much chance Forest will lose a couple of matches early, panic will set in and they start shuffling their deck trying to find ang way to compete.

Darlow has apparently turned us down twice and expressed his ambition to play for England. Well stick to it I guess 🤣🤣 I have ambition to play for Wales, just need a nuclear explosion or an asteroid strike to help me with that. Saying that I still think I have a better chance than him.

He'll be turning out for Forest's first team in the EFL Cup (Second Round) as early as 23 August by my reckoning. If anything happens to Henderson, might even make a Premier League appearance sooner than that.

If he’s been told he’s not wanted at Burnley then not so bad. On paper at least, with Burnley’s first choice leaving it looks like a pathetic move. Really disappointing to see the guy who is going to be first choice at the first World Cup since 58 elect for warming a bench instead of playing every week and match sharp. Couldn’t he just have dropped a level and played regularly for one season before going back to being a back up? I guess people will argue he’s not lacked sharpness previously, which is fairer comment in Hennessey’s case than Wards imo I think i heard an interview a couple of seasons ago that Karl Darlow qualifies for Wales through his grandfather who played in the 1958 World Cup for Wales . He is a goalkeeper with Premier League experience and maybe going to West Brom to play regular football since Pope has come into Newcastle . Would this be a good option whilst a young goalkeeper is being developed as he is only 31 ? Darlows been done to death on here over the years- doesn’t consider himself Welsh. I totally respect that

Yes he is our new number one but the important thing is the length of his contract which he has signed which is 2 years . This will make Hennessey our new number one when Henderson goes back to Man Utd after his loan period to maybe become their no 1 keeper.

He'll get cup competitions, and the two league games vs Man. United when Dean Henderson won't be eligible to play against his parent club.

and the two league games vs Man. United when Dean Henderson won't be eligible to play against his parent club. First Forest game AFTER the world cup would you believe.... So he'll have had 6* games with us in Qatar to warm him up for Forest. Typical * We'll probably rest him against England.

Henderson injured in a friendly apparently. Henderson was taken off as a precaution and was going to share the match with Hennessey. Will be able to give more of an update on Thursday after seeing Forest in pre season friendly Wednesday night against Hertha Berlin

A clean sheet for Wayne at Grimsby tonight. Easy 3-0 win for Forest (Carabao Cup).
Danny did not feature in the Leicester match at Stockport, but his replacement saved 3 pens in the shoot-out!

I wouldn't read too much into Iversen saving penalties against a League 2 club, Ward has done exactly the same in the last few seasons in the Carabao/FA Cup.

The difference being that last season, Kasper Schmeichel was a nailed on starter regardless of what heroics Danny Ward made whereas, Iversen could catch the eye and perhaps quite easily replace Ward, particularly if Leicester's defensive woes continue and the fans start clamouring for changes.

Really doubt it. Rodgers has been clear that Ward is his number 1. He will remain as such for the season unless he is really god-awful - which so far he definitely hasn't been End of the season I'm sure they will evaluate the squad and who knows, they might decide to go elsewhere for their GK. But from a Welsh perspective we're good for the next 11 months - which includes the WC which is amazing for us

With Ward playing first team football what’s the likelihood he will start the upcoming games? I’d still be picking Hennessey and I think Page will too.

I don’t trust Ward Yeah I was a fan of him during the Euros but for me I feel like he’s gone off the boil a little bit whilst Hennessey has come in and perfomed. For me I just haven’t seen enough top level goal keeping compared with Hennessey who really stepped up during the play offs and played a critical role. Hennessey even when not playing regularly is far more likely to keep us in a game I feel. Maybe I’m being slightly harsh as Ward I vaguely recall went above and beyond against France in the pre Euros friendly, I just don’t recall seeing anything of him of note since the Euros

Wayne had hardly any game-time under his belt pre-Ukraine & he was Man of the Match.
He will be our No.1 at the World Cup.

I just can't see a scenario where we don't play our keeper who is getting regular minutes in the Premier League, and instead play a number 2 at a worse club in the Premier League who has barely played this season

Hennessey has massively surprised me when it has mattered in this campaign.
Its incredible that he has produced on such big occasions for us when he has struggled over the last couple of seasons at club level. That takes real calon!

Let's dream for a moment that the improbable happens tonight, and that we go through and get a decent run. Does Hennessey reclaim his spot after the suspension if Ward is merely solid rather than outstanding? How long is the suspension? Does he walk back in for the quarter final?!
And if, as expected, we are out after tonight, is that it now for him as our first choice?

Toss up between the two. Both have had their moments for us both positively and negatively.
Would still keep Wayne involved in some capacity beyond the World Cup given lack of other options

Sorry to say i think it might be the end of the road for him. Next season i think he will be a number one at my club Forest no matter which division we are in.
He will be concentrating on getting another contract along with the possibility of coaching at our academy, who knows further down the line he could be involved with the national side as part of a coaching team say 2026/28

I'm surprised how little's been made of it, it really is a shocker. If he doesn't get sent off then we probably don't lose the game despite the performance and go into this game with at least some kind of chance of progression

Personally, I cannot blame Wayne that much for the 'howler'. He did a few good saves previously in the match. It wasn't his fault that the rest of the team decided to give Iran free reign to attack at every given opportunity. If they didn't play quite so sh*te he wouldn't have had to make such a rash decision.
