With Allen and Jonny out of the next game could a recall be on the cards? No

With Ledley effectively retired, Williams and Allen unavailable, doubts on Ramsey’s fitness we are very short on midfielders.
Who do you suggest takes their place in the squad?

Not playing much either is he? He is not, but desperate times.... and Cadno would be happy

Smith should start with Ramsey and if not this then Smith and Ampadu. Basically Smith, Ampadu AND Ramsey or any combination of the 3. With injuries to all 3 I would suggest starting Morrell in the deep role and have Levitt on the bench.

Don’t think it’s blunt, just a fair question!
Fair enough you don’t rate King (I don’t either) but if we are to rule someone out then suggesting alternative options would be an advantage
The players you have mentioned are already in the squad
Dylan Levitt would replace them as a squad member but is not like for like.
Lee Evans maybe the next obvious one?
An Ampadu/Morrell/Smith midfield does not fill me with hope (2 out of 3 of these not playing for their club)
King would be an option with the experience he has for a one off game but if he is injured then it’s another one we can write off
How is Emyr Huws getting along?

Giggs just will not call on Lee Evans for one reason or another and it is only a matter of time before he says he is not willing to be a last resort. Will Vaulks is not up to it either unfortunately. We may have to move a defender into the holding role but this has been a disaster previously.

so out of the horses mouth... he is a bit gutted by the twitter reaction. he genuinely didn't even think people would see it as a welsh/british thing. its there because its a symbol used by rangers i know twitter shouldn't be used a barometer of the general public's thoughts... but the reaction is ridiculous.

Agree, we shouldn't attack our players just because their outlook doesn't fit into our narrative. Like it or not, some players will see themselves as British as well. It's a minefield out there for footballers, better if they stayer off social media.

Its mad how many of our player's careers jumped off a cliff after Euro 16. King, Ledley, Gunter stopped playing. Edwards, Church, HRK retired early. Chester seriously injured. Ash's form plummeted. Allen going to bloody Stoke. Went tits up for Coleman.
I'm starting to think the FAW made some sort of pact with ancient Celtic forces in Dinard. Maybe that's what delivered us Kieffer Moore. What's in store after we win it this time?

I've never been overly impressed by King. That's been accelerated in recent times. Probably for the likes of Andy King, 2016 was a pinnacle that he possibly never thought he'd reached. It was a purple patch for the country and a particularly purple patch for him. It must be hard for an average player to be thrust into the limelight briefly, in the knowledge that is isn't going to happen again. It's like having a single hit and being on Top of the Pops in the 1980s.

Hopefully a Championship club pick him up. I like King, but it might be too late for him or Ledley to get a call up for the Euros now. Maybe it didn't help some players that qualifiers were played over 8 months instead of 2 years.
But, if there's a few injuries, Smith, Vaulks, Lockyer... this might open a door for the likes of Chester, King etc.

What's in store after we win it this time? Even since then Lawrence and Woodburn never seemed to grab that place in the team that was certain to be theirs. I reckon many would have had Ward nailed on to replace Hennessey by now. We’ve given opportunities to loads who didn’t take them. Fair play to Moore, can’t score for Wigan (or set the world alight before), one chance for us and he grabbed it with both hands. Made himself a national hero.

Going on loan to Huddersfield apparently.
If he plays regularly, he should get a call up for the march friendlies.
Certain midfielders for the euros? (If fit)...Ramsey, Allen, Ampadu, Morrell...
J.Williams, Smith, Vaulks, King, Ledley, Huws. (Anyone else?) < pick 2/3 ... I'd take Joniesta and King personally! (Maybe Ledley).

He offered next to nothing when he was fully fit and playing semi-regularly. Since then he hasn't been able to get into the rangers team during a 6-month stint. He made a name for himself with Leicester in league 1 as an attacking midfielder but only has two goals in 50 caps. He offers nothing in a more defensive role. I can count on one hand the number of games where I can recall him having a good game for us. I can't understand why anyone would want him back to be honest. I understand with ledley - he had a clear role which he carried out effectively. If he could get back to those levels, he would be an important squad member. But given how his stint at Charlton went and talk of him dropping down to league 2, that's not going to happen either

Sorry iot, but I completely disagree! I'd love to have him come on for Ampadu or Morrell and play alongside Allen in a deep role. Top pro, very high fitness levels, looks after himself, apart from red card vs Cyprus i cant remember him letting us down. All the intelligence and hard work off the ball, positioning off the ball (vitally important in centre mdifield) very often goes unnoticed, players like King are instrumental over 90 minutes. Get him on the plane :-)
