Sorry iot , but I completely disagree! I'd love to have him come on for Ampadu or Morrell and play alongside Allen in a deep role. Top pro, very high fitness levels, looks after himself, apart from red card vs Cyprus i cant remember him letting us down. All the intelligence and hard work off the ball, positioning off the ball (vitally important in centre mdifield) very often goes unnoticed, players like King are instrumental over 90 minutes. Get him on the plane :-) His last game for Wales was the Albania debacle, it would be a big call and a big surprise if he was called in now

Games just pass him by and I disagree that he does the grafting and unnoticed work you suggest. He offers nothing 90% of the time

I think your assessment of King is a bit harsh, but not a million miles from the truth. His biggest limitation is how slow he is off the mark. In that regard he doesn't compare favourably to either Morrell or Smith. It would take a terrible run of injuries for King to make the plane ahead of Morrell, Smith or even Huws. Ampadu and Allen are a given. I'd have Jonny Williams in a deep-lying role ahead of King to be honest - not that that would surprise anyone...

He did a good job against austria when he came on in the first half in the WC campaign. I think we were playing with ramsey and allen at the base and that has never worked for us. But 90% of the time, he's been rubbish. There are some players, like Ledley, who's often undervalued because they do a lot of the unseen work. I don't think King meets that description at all. He's just unseen full stop.

My two-pence on our midfield says, in this order - as it stands today:
Ramsey, Allen, Huws, Ampadu, Vaulks, Morrell, Smith, J Lawrence, Woodburn, King ...

He's had a good 2nd half (I missed most of the 1st half).
Good positioning and tidy passing.
Huddersfield haven't been getting enough bodies into Nottingham Forests box! King's job has been to anchor the midfield and give the balls for others to attack.
It's a good club for him now though, with the Cowley brothers in charge! I hope they can stay up.

I turned it off at start of second half, when Brennan got subbed.
I agree. Andy was as good in the first half in that Joe Ledley type role which I was very surprised with, as he normally loves the Rambo type late runs into the box.
All right for a 32 year-old. There might be another couple of seasons in him yet ;-)

He's on the bench tonight. But nice words from his manager:
(Article via DS)
"Andy brings real experience," explained Cowley when asked about the midfielder's immediate and longer-term future.
"He brings calmness and composure to us, particularly without the presence of a No9.
"We like to use Karlan (Grant) from the side, ideally, and Andy gives us a calmness on the ball, which he showed at Forest with some dominance in possession."
"He played 49 or 50 passes in the game, all of them successfully and his use of the ball was really good."
"So he brings real knowledge and tactical intelligence to the team."
Cowley added: "I thought him and Hoggy were a good blend in there.
"I felt our midfielders got good control in the game and that was shown in the possession stats."
Safe option alongside Joe Allen!

He's played really well so far against WBA, intercepting the ball, tackling, calm influence! Certainly showing his experience.
Fingers crossed he keeps this up!

I’ve been critical of King but fair play to him giving it a go. I’d actually be more in favour of him being in the squad now bringing a different insight into the camp.

The club's actually owned by Leicester's owners, so they might be doing him a bit of a favour by giving him a chance.
They are doing well for a newly promoted side, you'd imagine it'd take him some time to get match fit, and he'd need to get a regular spot in their side before you could even start talking about international duty.

King isn't anywhere near a call up and hasn't been for years. Anyone who says he should be is deluded in my humble opinion. We've got far better.

Ledley can play in the middle, made himself known and put himself about. Didn't let the game pass him by basically.
