But..but….but … closed shop…….something something…..Page too loyal…..something about grudges. What are we going to talk about every time a squad gets announced now? We need need a new player so we can be outraged at their omission from the next squad. We’ll fear not because I have it on good authority that Yankti Mooschov is finally willing to listen to what the FAW have to offer… I’ve heard Page has got a grudge against him so can’t see him being brought into the closed shop.

Now out until next March, Page will be well upset.

Tom has 23 caps and has scored 3 goals, he is not in the same bracket as the other players listed above. He's already proved he can be an effective member of the squad. if we made it in 2018, he would have been included...and woodburn, really deserves to play in a major tournament after what he did late in 2018 WCQs.

Tom is not a player we should forget about completely. He is well thought of at Rangers, but unfortunately his time there has been blighted by injury.
Now on the way back to first team action again hopefully, after recovering from a calf injury.
If (please!) we do qualify for Germany, his experience as a squad member could be be useful in warm-up matches next year and as back-up for our forwards.

An assist today, and given man of the match.

Didn’t Page and Tom have a bust up?

Didn’t Page and Tom have a bust up? No, I think that was something that was made up on here or on Twitter because Page didn’t select him.

He's seems to be doing well recently. Anyone watched Rangers in last few weeks and can say if it's more than just internet stats?

I must say that he looked pretty good against Benfica, who are a top European team.
Rangers fans generally have taken a shine to him, although - until last night - he has been hampered by intermittent injury concerns.
If he now has a decent run with Rangers, and bags a few more goals, maybe a recall in the Nations League would be due - come September?

Assuming that the squad has already been decided a couple of weeks ago, I'd be really disappointed if he is not the absolute first on the stand-by list. Right behing Harry and Dai.

He's competing against Brennan, Brooks, Wilson, DJ, Broadhead and Burns. All of them are younger, have a lot more to give, and actually are probably playing at a higher level more consistently. Can't see a call up for Lawrence personally

Should definitely be in the squad announced tomorrow. Far better than most of our options.

Starting again v Benfica. Rabbi only on the bench I have today discovered that I have Discovery + with my Sky set up. I may watch Rangers later as it is the only chance I will get to see him 🙂

Tom has looked sharper and fitter in the last mounth, than he has been for years! A travesty that he is not part of the national team.

A 1-0 home defeat for Rangers vs Benfica, with Tom being substituted on 73 mins - and Rabbi coming on from the bench at the same time. Both did OK.

I can't believe he is still only 30! I'd love to see him picked again, i think having the option to bring on a tom lawrence against poland would have only been a plus. He can get you a goal, he's done it before. Shame. This was my problem with page, seemingly fell out with some players like Lawrence and sorba and wouldn't give mullin a go even at wrexham against a Gibraltar side. There's only so many times you can include a Bradshaw who offers us nothing at international level. let's hope its a clean slate with bellamy

Even if he picks Mullin, Sorba and Lawrence, he’ll still have to leave someone out. Then there’ll be rumours on here and social media about a ‘grudge’ or a ‘bust up’ with whoever he leaves out. Whoever the manager, whoever they pick, the focus will be on whoever gets left out. That won’t change just because Page has gone.

Got to admit thats a strange one as i loved his attitude when first involved with the squad. No idea what happened with Lawrence.

I think there's definitely the chance of a clean slate for all under Bellamy. No reason for there not to be. I do wonder how he'll be with players down the line though, is he the type to hold grudges or are we thinking the new mature Bellamy would be one to put the team first? He's had his share of manager's falling out with him when he was a player so hopefully he doesn't want to be like that.
