Zagreb top of the league at the moment. If he gets a few games he'll probably get a winners medal. Big if, but if he goes straight into the seniors and does well could he make a late claim for the Euros? I'd probably have him ahead of Levitt in the pecking order at this point. Robbie of last Summer, was well on the way to breaking into our seniors. Although he did play twice for our U21 (Moldova and Bosnia), unfortunately, he was injured a fair bit this autumn as well. More like our Bale than our Rambo, when it comes to Wales ;-)
I just wish he went to FC Twente or somewhere similar, but I will soon get used to it, as long as he plays!

Good on the lad, if he can’t see a future at Arsenal go and look for the opportunity..

Love the fact we’ve now got players playing in Spain, Germany, Italy and Croatia. All those different experiences being bought into camp can only be good for Welsh football.
Playing under 23’s just seems sterile after a few years. Why not go to Belgium, Austria, Greece and do something different.

Because you'd make more money on the books of a PL or Championship club and doing a few loans in the EFL. In terms of a wage to ability ratio English football is right up there with some of the most lucrative nations in the world. Average wage in the Championship these days is around £20k/week.

Yeah fair point. I’d quite enjoy the experience but I guess it’s a job at the end of the day. I like Lawrence’s approach... Netherlands, Slovakia, Belgium, Germany. Just a shame he isn’t good.

Yeah, think it might be even more than that to be honest. We have a strict wage cap of about £6.5k/week and we obviously have the 24th budget in the league. I think it's Charlton in 23rd and their budget is rumoured to be about 50% more than ours. We obviously drag it down quite a bit. James Bree on loan from Villa is rumoured to be on about £26.5k/week, meaning Villa are paying £20k/week while he is playing for us. Izzy Brown from Chelsea is pretty similar.

Starting for their B team. They’re in the second tier of Croatian football.

Just seen on Dragon Soccer’s spreadsheet that he got sent off for 2 yellows in Dinamo’s reserves game...... not a brilliant way to introduce yourself in your second game. Looking at his wider booking stats as well suggests that he like a yellow a bit too much

I know what you're saying is tongue in cheek but an interesting stat about Savage I read the other day was he only got two yellow cards in his career. Staggering considering the amount of yellows he racked up. The first red being that game against Northern Ireland.

Sofascore says he played the first half for Zagreb’s first team in a friendly today. Completely different team for the second half, hence the half time substitution. Promising signs.

I wonder if he'll be learning Croatian then? He is one of only 5 players in their squad that isn't from the former Yugoslavia, as well as the manager being from Croatia - so you would have thought they communicate mostly in Croatian or similar dialects
Burton will be a very interesting one to keep an eye on this season - especially if he's involved in their first team, and particularly for when they play in the Champions League. I watched a bit of them in the group stage this year - they beat Atalanta (who are now one game away from the semis) 4-0 at home, and drew both of their games with Shakhtar Donetsk, and were an entertaining side to watch
To explain their relative strength to those who aren't aware - they rank as the 48th best club Europe according to UEFA's club coefficient which uses weighted results from league & Europe over the past few years to rank clubs sides. Clubs who have been in Europe consistently tend to be higher on the list. To put their position into context, Dinamo Zagreb rank higher than; Eintracht Frankfurt, Atalanta, Marseille, Fenerbahce & Lokomotiv Moscow
Getting in their first team would be a great achievement and I don't see why it wouldn't put him in a good position for a call-up if he does become a regular. Let's see how he gets on

Starts today for the first team in the league according to DS. Hope he keeps his head, loves a yellow.
Outside bet for a call-up? Will hopefully have good minutes in his legs prior to Sept games.

Great pass at the start of the move for their second goal.

Great pass at the start of the move for their second goal. Agree. Also, my limited Serbo-Croat was enough to understand that the commentator was very impressed with him, as well! He was saying how assured and disciplined he was. Totally brimming with confidence.
To be honest, albeit coming from a point of bias, I would be shocked if Robbie doesn't get a call up to the extended squad next week. It would not at all surprise me if he gets to play in Helsinki. Right behind Morrell in the pecking order right now. You read it here first ;-)

Lovely stuff, glad it wasn’t just my biased eyes. Just thankful he’s a defensively minded midfielder.

Wasn't expecting him to already be starting for them. That massively increased the chance of a call up to the seniors
Will try and catch the highlights

One of the few at the club to not have a Wikipedia article. Sort it out manulike.

Came on for the last 25', when they were down to 10 men. Looks full of confidence and it is obvious that his team mates trust him fully, as the ball seems to constantly go through him.
A Welsh International that actually gets game time in Europe ;-)
