Wednesday, 1st June - family will be told to leave me alone from 5pm onwards! Poland-v-Wales first on S4C at home, then Scotland-v-Ukraine on Sky later on (the latter down the pub, possibly).

Wales v Scotland/Ukraine final also being shown on ITV. Always better in Cymraeg though with Dylan Ebenezer, Owain Tudur Jones, John Hartson, the inimitable Malcolm Allen and the best female commentator ever, Gwennan Harries.

How come ITV can suddenly get the rights? Probably just a one-off arrangement. Channel 4 did a similar thing when Raducanu was in the US Open final last year. The weird things is that in the press release, some of the bosses of the various channels are talking as if Scotland are already in the final. But if they do get through, I think I'm right in saying it'll be two UK nations against each other for a place in a major tournament for the first time since Euro 2000 (England v Scotland). I suppose you can see why ITV have thought it's worth pushing the boat out.

There's been a big political and press campaign in Scotland for "Scotland's play off final" (as it has been referred to) to be screened free-to-air. Unlike here in Wales, where of course it could also be viewed on S4C as well as Sky Sports. So if the press release feels a little skewed towards the Scotland point of view, that's why. I can't imagine STV will get many viewers if it's a Wales v Ukraine final!

I don’t get the itv bashing on Facebook/ Twitter.
The more exposure we get, the better - including outside of Wales.

Other than Welsh medium on S4C, I see our Nations League games are only on Premier Sports with no highlights on BBC Wales anymore. Really disappointing!

So Premier / Sky / BT and this new one, if you were an avid sofa football watcher and wanted to watch loads of different games just how many subscriptions and how much a month could you end up forking out??? Seems to me you pay for one to watch your footie then your team / country gets moved to another!! Personally I don't have any and am happy to watch S4c but I appreciate people outside of S4c's transmittable area would have to get Sky or something to receive S4c.

I got a hacked Amazon Firestick that shows all the football and its only 60 quid a year. Every single game from the top 4 English divisions, all Scottish Prem games, the other week I was watching a match from the Polish 2nd division, watched a load of Cercle Brugge games when Matondo was there. Just watching footy at home is an absolute rip off so fuck it, don't let companies rip you off and rip them off instead. If you want to watch footy properly, you need to spend over 100 quid a month, so there is no chance i'm doing that.

I know it's considered as illegal but to be honest I could not care less. It should be illegal for these companies (sky, bt etc), to be able to charge customers an arm and a leg to watch sport!!! I'd really recommend others to do the same if they are avid football viewers. £5 a month is extremely reasonable.

I had one of those sticks, came from Southern Ireland but after about six months it all stopped working.
Guess it is the luck of the draw when you get found out.

Slight change of tack. What will happen post 2024? If there's no free to air viewing, and the games Cymru play go behind a pay wall, and IF we continue to prosper as a team, then I can see a change of venue raising its head again. With no free coverage, then Cardiff City stadium although perfect now, might become too small given a possible increase in interest to see games live at a venue. The the egg amphitheatre will then come into consideration unfortunately.

For those not able to get to the game in person tomorrow, you could do a lot worse than let S4C build the day up for you. If you have Sky it's on Ch134 -The schedule (which I'm just guessing ITV might not have so comprehensively) is
11.20am Cenedl Pel-Droed Annibynnol / Independent Football Nation. Fans view of the inspiration that the team have given. 11.45am Clasuron (Classic) Pel-droed Cymru - Cymru v Yr Eidal/Italy 2002 13.35pm Clasuron (Classic) Pel-droed Cymru - Cymru v Gwlad Belg/Belgium 1993 15.20pm Cymru: Un Cam o (step from) Qatar. Review of our WCQ games so far 16.15pm Sgorio Rhyngwladol - Cymru v Wcráin. Rhagflas / Preview 16.40pm Sgorio Rhyngwladol - Cymru v Wcráin. Y gem....

For obvious reasons I'd like to get hold of various recent programmes and keep them on my ssd/flash drives forever, as I'm sure do many others. There is an application to do this with iplayer but the Welsh language coverage is far more memorable imo. Yes I'm aware S4C programmes are available through iplayer and I have tried doing it this way but the quality is garbage sadly, not even 720. Anyone know of a way to do it in full HD?

For those interested, there's an episode of Sgwrs dan y Lloer with Dafydd Iwan on S4C 8pm tomorrow evening / Monday 17th October. Picking Dafydd now as the guest being interviewed will be in no small part due to the recent success / adoption of Yma o Hyd, so this will surely be covered in the chat. Available on Clic and iplayer afterwards, and Welsh and English subtitles available.

To be honest you are probably better off downloading S4c Clic then you don't have to wade through all the other BBC stuff. Nowt to do with footie but Dal Y Mellt on S4c at the moment is an entertaining watch.

Yes, I accidentally stumbled across the adult channels whilst looking for BBC Wales too. I’ve been looking for BBC Wales a lot lately, especially after the wife goes to bed.
