Norrington-Davies did very well against Spence. We have our replacement for Chris Gunter if we want to keep an opposition's attack at bay!

Really strikes me as similar to Ben Davies in that he'd be a good LCB but not so much a LWB. I think that will be his role for us & him being a left footer is very useful for that reason. I hope he starts playing there for Sheff United tbh

He's played at lcb once for us - either against the USA or Mexico and did very well.

Another solid cameo from Rhys after his goal scoring exploits in the week. Def on the plane to Qatar

Seems to have moved back up the pecking order in terms of wing-backs now...
1. Connor/Neco 2. RND 3. Burns 4. Sorba
I have to say he has seemingly improved. Not as silky as Neco or Burns, but gets busy and works up & down very hard. Well taken goal the other day, here's hoping he can add more of that to his game

Played the full 90 at LCB in a back 5 tonight. I've always liked the look of him in that position. He's probably the main back-up and potential successor to Ben Davies

Had a string of games at LCB for Sheff Utd now and their fans appear to be really pleased with him. Very aggressive and good on the ball. Very similar to Davies in that he doesn't offer enough going forward as a full back / wing back, but ideal for that LCB spot. A really good back-up to have

I'm very happy to have RND as an understudy to Davies I can see RND pushing on and becoming a Premier League LCB at some point. As a wing back I see his level as low end Championship

Played pretty reasonably at our place last Friday.
Think a lot of our (Luton) fans were surprised to see him at LCB as opposed to LWB where he played exclusively for us when he was on loan here.
He could probably do a holding job at LWB and would definitely be ahead of Lawrence at LCB. No question he'll be in the squad and that versatility will probably mean Lawrence won't be going as long as Davies and RND are fit.

Thing is though Ben's influence on the team and in particular the defence, goes far beyond his individual contribution. We'll lose a great deal if he's not able to play. That said, Conte seems pretty relaxed about his recovery. www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/ben-davies-tottenham-injury-wales-25044875

True but the silver lining here could be the emergence of RND as a very good and capable option at LCB for the next 10+ years. Sheffield Utd have had some very good defenders come through the ranks this century.

bollox
he has been bendigedig for us while Ben was injured for the nation's league
he deserves a place in the squad
seeing as though he left on a stretcher you could say he is more or less unavailable for the world cup

that is unless he does a Ledley and recover from a serious injury in a month

Looks a serious hamstring injury if he had to be stretchered off. Looks like World Cup over for him. Shame really has he’s decent back up but we have plenty of options in those positions.

Do we though? LCB there's only Ben really, and then LWB we have Neco or Roberts, and one of those is playing RWB. Sorba isn't a WB, well not a good one anyway.
Absolutely gutted for him, hoping for a miracle recovery as he deserves to be on the plane.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust Burns or Sorba at wing back against good opposition after their displays against the Dutch. Might need to bring someone like Andrew Hughes in - think Page was at the Preston game at the weekend so may have been keeping tabs on him. Been short in those positions for a while so probably should have tested a couple of other options by now, although to be fair he has done that with Burns and Sorba, it's just they're probably not good enough. People will hate this, but I imagine that Gunter might be next in line.

if he could not even get up to walk a few yards off the pitch then he must be in a bad way. he is our best backup for a left sided centre half so let's hope Ben Davies keeps fit

That would be a turn up for the books and would annoy me somewhat that we would turn to him at the 11th hour when with a bit of planning the player base could have been expanded in much less of a rushed manner. As per the Lockyer thread though can anyone see him calling up Hughes now on the eve of the World Cup?

good call on Andy Hughes - brilliant player for Preston North End. when he was at Newport county he played at left back sometimes so pretty sure he is left footed
