Vaulks as been hit and miss for Cardiff, as discussed in the Vaulks thread.
As for Lawrence, he's another that should be no where near our Euro squad.

Lawrence is about our 7th best CB, so he'd need several injuries to make the cut.
Vaulks looks odds on at the moment. Given his run of form and level he's playing at, he may well be above Smith and huws in the pecking order

Only watched the first fifteen minutes, as for some reason the Dutch stream switched to Turkish ;-(

James Lawrence back at St Pauli. Not sure if loan or transfer. Fans seem very happy, nice to see.

I never took a liking to him. I think he’s not good enough for the Welsh Squad

Even if Ash is retired, I'd say he'd surely be behind Rodon, Mepham, Ampadu, Cabango, Lockyer and Chester. I guess he's decent emergency cover, but other than that I'd agree in that I don't think he's good enough.

Back from injury and on for last five minutes tonight Played the last 30' today. Really poor show from him. Came on when they were already 0-2 down, but lost his man in the air for the third goal. Was really close to giving away another when he didn't trek back after joining an attack, and the opposing striker was inches away from scoring from the half way line!
I have no idea if the COVID regs stipulate that FAW need to pay for him to have a private chartered flight ... But even if he uses Lufthansa, I'd still rather have Ryan Astley or Brandon Cooper in there ...

I’d imagine he was called up as he is left footed. But even then I’d imagine Fox is a better player. Perplexing really. Although JLaw did the job when we needed, I’d be worried were he subbed on. I don’t think I’d be as worried with Fox.

Name players who haven’t looked the part in a Wales shirt. James Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo top of the list. Harry Wilson bar a free kick would be up there

Harry Wilson bar a free kick would be up there Unfortunately agree with JLaw, in patches Harold has looked good imo- hasn’t quite the consistency yet. Rabbi does need to improve his end product, but a good player in driving the team forward, and pressing from the front. Plus he’s 20 and hasn’t had too many chances to definitively judge yet imo.

Considering our ethos of blooding young players, I feel this persistence with J Lawrence is a bit bizarre.

I agree, bit bizarre putting Matondo in the same bracket as Lawrence. He made a big difference against Bulgaria away.

I think we've been a bit spoiled with certain players breaking through at a young age like Ampadu, Bale & Ramsey. Our fans sometimes forget that it's quite normal for players to not get much senior football before the age of 20. Like you said players like Brooks, James, Rodon, C.Roberts hadn't played any meaningful football before their 20s. It's not necessarily a bad thing & players can still have great careers like Brooks is showing (being nominated for YPOTY). It's also amazing that players like Neco, Matondo, Ampadu, Brennan have had some regular senior football before being 20 - it bodes really well for their development and we should really see the benefit of this before they turn 25/26

Yep, not thrilled by his selection but he did well on his full debut & from what I can remember of the USA game didn't do anything wrong. Pob lŵc & hope he has the game of his life!

A nice tidy performance from JL (who did OK against USA, too). He will count himself unlucky to have been selected for substitution after half-time. Onwards and upwards!

Judging by his stats today, he had a brilliant game despite their loss.
