Much maligned at first, is Lawrence now ahead of Mepham & Lockyer? I think he might be. It’s obvious that Giggs & Page see plenty in him to suggest he is at the forefront of their thinking.

I may be alone in this one, but although he did a job, he didn't look exactly comfortable imo and was caught of out of position quite a few times. He recovered for that goal saving tackle amazingly, but it was his mistake initially that allowed the Czech player in.
To me a player needs to have good mobility and dynamism to fulfill that RCB/LCB role and I think Davies and RND provide that better.
I don't know, maybe I'm being harsh.

this game has got him credit in the bank certainly... however if its a choice between him and Davies for LCB i'd be going for Davies every time.

I think he was partly to blame for the Vance he presented, their sub centre forward showed for the ball and Lawrence made to follow him creating a gap that the midfielder ran into. Two things,he made the tackle because he realised his mistake early and corrected, and where were Ampadu and Morrell, the guys the player ran off! For me you can analyse any goal and apportion blame but most of the time the reason is holistic rather than individual .I thought he had a good game ,but agree if everyone is fit he doesn't start, just think the shit he takes on here is ridiculous ( not aimed at you)

Tbh, he's done better than I originally thought. Obviously it was a surprise to see him in the line up, but he's obviously well regarded within the management team.

He did aot better than I expected and is,at least play regularly.
However, can't get excited about a last minute lunge to make up for his own poor play. Also almost cost a goal in first half with his slip up.
Personally dont think he is good enough but the management think he is so I think he will make the euros squad

I think the preference for me would be Lockyer > Lawrence > Mepham
Mepham has made a number of costly mistakes for us, and doesn't seem to be playing regularly for the Cherries. While Lawrence has the odd mistake (last campaign), he seems to have improved recently.

Tune into the excellent Danny Kelly on Talksport Sunday evenings, when they usually have a good laugh at Dortmund's expense.

Yeah but to be fair Talk Shite have a good laugh at everyone who isn't English. I well remember the shit they gave Cardiff and Swansea when the Welsh fan died at Wembley and they perpetuated the story that it was inter Wales club rivalry, when it turned out he had been murdered by an England fan they never mentioned it, Talk Shite, you should be ashamed to be admitting to listening to it.

Released by St Pauli.
Will be interesting to see where he goes from here, unfortunately I feel it will be in the wrong direction.

Joined Fc Nurnberg. Good luck James. I’ve googled his name and Ramsey’s everyday for what seems months. Happy to see him stay in Germany. I don’t think he will make WC squad but I also don’t think he’s played his last game for us because we always seem to have 2 cb injured

He's had a decent little career around Europe hasn't he? Made his way through Slovakia, Belgium, Germany and Netherlands whilst making an admirable number of appearances for the national team. Fair play to him.

Yeah he's made a career in Europe where many would have gone out to one country and then come home. Credit to him for that! Looking at his club career it seems no club has really seen him as indispensable. Less than 100 appearances for each of his clubs, seems to spend a season or 2 in most places then gets moved on
Never really saw him as an international level CB, didn't turn/react quickly enough and that game against the Czechs at home comes to mind thinking about how shaky we were with him in the team. Although he has looked better in games where he was on the left of a back 3
It's mad to me that he played 4 times for us as recently as 2021. Feels like longer ago than that!
