James starting, but squarely to blame for the first goal after 9' and did himself no favours when being lobbed far too cheaply for the 2nd, to beat a poor offside trap.
He looks very good going forward. Leading many of the attacks, out from the back and spraying some really decent diagonal balls.
Won the header in the box that hit the post and they scored the equalizer from that.
My problem with him, is that he looks really uncomfortable defending as a FB in a back four.
8 points from 11 games ;-(

Played 90 minutes this weekend after a spell on the sidelines. St. Pauli won 4-3.

Can he join up with us for the Czech game or not? I thought he played well against Belgium and I feel we could do with him in the squad. If not, we have to be asking the question as Jude Bellingham has joined up with the England team.

Quite strange that. He can join our players in a bubble in another country but he can’t remain in that same bubble in ours. I know the line has to be drawn somewhere but really?

Has had his fair share of criticism but deserves praise when he earns it. Was steady tonight and did well. Performed better than Mepham & am starting to think he will be of use in a back 3 as a deputy to Davies

If we are going for a similar line up against the Czechs, wouldn't it have been wiser to select players available for both matches for some continuity?
He's hardly the saving grace of the Welsh defence, so I fail to understand how playing him tonight was a good idea.

Yeah I’ll hold my hands up and admit I was very sceptical when I saw him in the squad, let alone starting. He did well in a three chwarae teg.

Interesting, and makes Page's job even harder to choose his back three.
Rodon is cemented. But the other places are up for grabs between Gunter, RND, Ampadu, Mepham and Cabango. The first three being favourites imo.

If available, he must start for me. Looked solid against Belgium and RND probably won't start after playing 90 minutes last night.
That being said, I'd favour Gunter to Mepham in the RCB slot.

If they’re going to the trouble of bringing him back over it suggests that he will play, or at least play a major part, against the Czechs.

Yes would agree with this Why? Mepham is 6ft 3in and Gunter is 5ft 11in Gunter is no better technically than Mepham and is far older (approaching 32) He plays in the first division - in which Charlton are ninth! Mepham lost his place in a talented team going for promotion back to the Premier League. No one loves Wales more but I do not agree he is better than Mepham as a centre back! Mepham's problem is he has not been playing regularly and is a bit low on confidence. I would rather play decent players in their own, natural position than throw a dice

Performed better than Mepham & am starting to think he will be of use in a back 3 as a deputy to Davies In a match where Mexico were going through the motions. How many times was he tested? Mepham was playing versus a multi talented, highly motivated Belgian team, that are apparently ranked #1 in the world! England's defence struggled to contain them! His mistake for the penalty was poor but I put that down to tiredness and hopefully the benefit of a full on match and best part of a week's rest will have helped him in that regard

So we play a back 5, which includes Gunter instead of RND versus the world beating Czechs? Gunter is honest but does not attack from full back. If we have this cautious mind set then their is no point turning up for the Euros. We are playing in Cardiff for goodness sake!

I'd say Gunter's natural position is more of a RCB now.

If he was so great he would not be playing for a team in the middle of the first division with all his experience and has just played 90 minutes! Mepham has to improve but come on he was OK except for that stupid swing of the leg which was clearly caused by fatigue

This could be especially important if we start with Moore, which I believe we should (and will).

He must be starting then. I doubt they'd drag him over just to sit on the bench.
I would personally give RND another run out, looked better.

Might be unfair, but I will always feel more nervous with James Lawrence in the backline. I'm sure manulike saw him playing for Anderlecht a few times in a back 5 where he was culpable for a few goals. He has lots of mistakes in him...
