Please give Carl Robinson the job! I've been reading Dave Edwards' book, it's brilliant and he talks about how passionate Cookie's team talks were, and how Coleman was able to connect with the players. I really can't see Giggs or Bellamy having that kind of relationship with the players. I can definitely see Robinson having huge passion and also being a good man manager. Oh i think Bellamy would be very passionate about the job, and that would come across to the players. I also think Giggs would motivate them in a different way, they would be captivated by what he has to say about football, other than Bale, no one has the experience in that dressing room of reaching the pinnacle of world football. I like what Carl Robinson has done in the MLS, and he is well respected there, has the experience of managing, that with Giggs dividing the Red Wall, is why i would go with Carl Robinson. Those are good points! I think Bellamy is a massive twat to be honest, and a bully! But maybe he has grown up since his playing days.

He'd be the first to admit he was a twat when he was younger, he's grown up since then though

Carl Robinson on reports linking him to the vacant Wales job.
"Listen, as a manager you're always flattered when your name gets mentioned. I've got a fantastic job here, I work with some great people. I'm happy here, but I'm a very passionate Welsh person."

I think he would have to manage a club at a higher level first though, or take an MLS team to new highs.

Ideally, i agree with you, we need a more experienced appointment. But we are not going to get one i dont think.

I always thought Cookie would stay on for Euro 2020, and then Carl Robinson would have had more experience under his belt. Out of the 3 main candidates it's Osian for me.

Well for the foreseeable future at least. He seems to be quite settled in Canada and the Whitecaps are a team with a limited budget, therefore getting them to the play-off's was a good achievement. If he continues to maintain them at that level for many he will be 'just a Manager in a Tin pot league', if he doesn't get them to the play-offs again he will likely get the sack when he will be a 'failed Manager from a Tin pot league'.

He's doing a great job, it's a shocking standard don't get me wrong but they have one of the smallest budgets and from my understanding you can only have a certain amount of "foreign players and all the best Canadians will play for Toronto due to money, the wage cap is very small so for them to be winning the league (not the play offs) is an amazing achievement
Would love to see him prove himself back home but it's a tough gig to give up location wise to go to league 2 or league 1

Maybe the timing came as a surprise, but not the decision. It's been on the cards for the last two seasons TBH. He managed to get them into the playoff's a couple of seasons ago with frankly a poor squad of players, since then that has been the bar that he been judged by. His players budget has barely been increased and other teams have worked out his system - something akin to our five at the back (without a Bale in attack) - although a bit like Cookie, he didn't seem to be able to develop a Plan B. So it was only a case of downhill from there. I think that it was a case, like many Managers in football, it was his time to go had come. It will be interesting to see what his next move is. Would love to see him as part of the FAW.

I don't go to watch the games as the standard is so poor but to sack Robinson is ridiculous. They haven't spent a penny in years Vancouver whilst other teams are signing the big names of world football, obviously coming to the end of their careers, Vancouver's last night signing was Jordan Mutch who hadn't really played football in about 4 years.
The stadium pitch needs to be done and the salary cap increased, they've just sold Alphonso Davies to Bayern for 20 odd million and still no money in the pot, Vancouver just have awful sports teams, Hockey (last) no basketball, baseball are in the 3rd tier, CFL shocking sport, and their major sporting success really is the MLS, they almost won the western conference last year, missed out by a point.
The problem is then going into the playoffs the other teams big guns turn up and Vancouver have the smallest budget and one of the worst squads on paper, Robinson did a great job

Two recommend listening to MOTD Wales last night. One was Alarch on here. Robinson was my choice for Wales manager. But what a pundit he is!!

The next Wales boss! Go on Carl Having watched Oxford's game the other night I wouldn't at all mind it if we appointed the other Carl Robinson once Giggs leaves. There's only two Carl Robinsons, only two Carl Robinsons...
