aca.st/67005aIt's always fascinating listening to Carl Robinson! This is a recent podcast appearance. Future Wales manager, no doubt :-) Finally got around to listening to him on the Elis James podcast. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p08kbz6lHe touches on a lot of what he talked about on the Steven Caldwell podcast, but wow! He has some in-depth understanding of football. He talked about wanting to manage in the Mexican and Japanese leagues as part of his development as a coach. Anybody know what is so different about these leagues?

Anybody know what is so different about these leagues? Mexican football is dreadful. I’ve lived next door in Guatemala permanently since 2005. Fast flowing, frantic stuff with no substance. They do seem to be good at international youth football but something goes wrong. USA league would be the same standard. Carl wants to experience different cultures and travel.

Could it be his goal to be the one to change all that with a team there? He seems like a bit of a trailblazer, could be the standard ex footballer and get paid to be a pundit every week. Instead he has been to Canada, Australia, potentially Mexico and Japan. If he doesn’t get the Wales job he’s the type of guy we need on the FAW board when he retires.

Love his approach. You've only got one life, and he could have spent it doing what every other ex-pro does, but fair play to him, he's seeing the world and his understanding of the game is only going to improve immensely by understanding these different cultures and styles of football.

Newcastle Jets fans aren't happy, seems like there's trouble there behind the scenes, there may be some financial problems and they aren't really in a position to turn down an offer for Carl.
Western Sydney as a club finished just a point behind Newcastle last season, but are seemingly in a better state off the pitch.

Western Sydney are the most progressive club in the league, so it’s a great opportunity for Carl. The chances of him being next Wales manager are pretty good & if we continue to pull off results in the current manner, coupled with Ole’s struggles at Man Utd, it could be sooner than we think...

I don't think Giggs will be on Utd's radar this season if (when) Ole goes, more likely to be Poch. Giggs' standing is improving but I don't think he's at Utd level yet...after a good Euros however? That would soon change. I'd expect Giggs will be Utd manager a couple managers down the line.

I think most United fans, even the older ones who grew up watching Giggs would go ape at the idea of him replacing Solskjaer. They want someone experienced and proven.

Seems that patience has gone out of fashion in football :-(
Someone got Arsene Wenger's number?

Seemed like Rooney only got the job because of his name but 15 games into it seems a bit harsh, but them they were sinking like a stone and should never have gotten ride of the manager he took over from anyway, birmingham seems like a car crash of a club, hopefully james can move on soon.
